Having been laid low for the last week or 2 with Covid, I've been thinking about who we're fast becoming as a culture, and a lot of it ain't pretty.
Without particularly wanting to sound like Pollyanna (just carbon dated myself back into the dark ages), how hard can it be for people to use kindness first - always? Surely we're evolved enough by now as humans to work from a place of kindness and reason?
Again, sounding like a bit of a hippy perhaps (not that there's anything wrong with that), but the cult of the individual, courtesy of a capitalist democracy, appears to have delivered millions of miserable, frightened people and a planet under great distress, on the brink of becoming uninhabitable (perhaps not in my lifetime - but my grandkids are in real trouble).
I believe we're better together. The standard you walk past is the standard you accept. We must stop walking past these problems that seem too complex for us to solve, and participate in the solution.
