✨ Work Placement Success Story

Blackline Joinery, a local owner-operated business specialising in custom kitchens, wardrobes, and home renovations, is making a real impact in supporting young talent.

Since coming on board as a work placement Host, they’ve support five students to achieve their in-industry hours—with incredible results.

One standout student, initially unsure of his career path, completed a one-week placement in 2025. After returning in 2026, his enthusiasm and ability quickly shone through—by day two, the team knew he was one to invest in has now been offered an apprenticeship! 👏

Today, we pause to remember and honour the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering spirit of the men and women who have served—and continue to serve—our nation.

On this ANZAC Day, we reflect on the bravery of those who stood in the face of adversity, who gave so much so that we may live in freedom and peace. Their legacy is not only written in history but carried in the values we hold dear: mateship, resilience, and selflessness.

To our Defence Force—past and present—thank you for your service, your strength, and your sacrifice. We remember those who are no longer with us, we stand beside those who serve today, and we honour the families who share in that commitment.

From 1 July 2026, businesses that sell or handle food must separate food waste from general waste.
This includes:
• Cafés and restaurants
• Takeaways and catering
• Food manufacturers
• Supermarkets, hotels, schools

It will be rolled out in stages, but it will impact processes, staff, and costs.

Small Business Support Update: NSW Business Connect Program

NSW Small Business Minister Janelle Saffin has recently confirmed that Business Connect will return in a revised form after months of uncertainty. This announcement places small business support firmly back on the agenda, bringing renewed confidence to business owners across NSW.

Given the current economic climate, we welcome the program’s return and the commitment that it is “definitely coming back.” As it is reshaped, it will be important that it remains practical, independent and accessible, delivering trusted, real-world support to small businesses at every stage.
