Recycling and repurposing items isn’t a recent thing, people did it in the world war 2 turning saucepans into aeroplanes. Now spring has arrived, you can drop off your unwanted TV’s, video players, CD, DVD players, computers. Working or not our volunteer men can repurpose these items. And dead whitegoods can find a home as well.
Drop off your items - weekends or weekdays at 117 Wildey Street Raceview. We also take mowers and power tools. But we don’t take furniture.
Drop the donated items off anytime that suits you. Appreciate your support as we help the vulnerable in the community as we repurpose these items.

It is National Volunteers Week and we honour the men who come in weekly to our Raceview Repair Shed to tinker and repair whitegoods and electrical items so that they can either find a new home for a family in crisis or be repurposed as something else to save it ending up as landfill.
These are faithful retired men and we appreciate their community service. I must admit that they spin some good yarns at morning smoko each Tuesday and Thursday.
It’s great that many people give back their time to build community in this city.

Don't know what to do with your sandbags?

Don't let them go to waste!

🌱 Top-Dress Your Lawn: Spread the sand over your lawn to improve soil quality and drainage.

⚽️ Support Your Local Club: No lawn? Donate the sand to a local sporting club to help maintain their fields.

🚪Don’t throw away the bags. Store undamaged sandbags out of sunlight for future use.

** Of course sandbags submerged by flood waters should be disposed of, and not repurposed.**

Stay safe everyone. There is no need for panic. We have a strong community that supports each other. Fill up all your drinking containers at home today before the cyclone comes. Have plenty of buckets of water for your toilet in case we lose water supply for a brief period.
You may lose power but it will come back on. Just be patient. Keep an eye on your neighbours to make sure they are ok.
The Ipswich City Council and State Govt will keep us posted on how things are going. They will be our eyes and ears during this cyclone.

This week our volunteer Repurpose Shed men got the last minute projects finished to get delivered to families in need prior to Christmas close. And with a yummy morning tea they are on a two week Christmas break. Lost count of how many fridges, washing machines, mowers and electronic gear we Repurposed this year. A lot and we were able to help so many people in welfare accomodation.
We are still taking donations so any whitegoods working or not, TVs working or not, DVD and video players, computers and laptops you no longer require, you can drop it off in the undercover areas of the shed 117 Wildey Street Raceview. We are monitoring the donations over the break to keep it all secure.
Thank you Ipswich for your support in saving goods from landfill, giving items a second home and helping those in the community in need of whitegoods and electrical items.
