Tasmania's longest running family owned irrigation and manufacturing business. Many believed this to be the end for this small rural business.

With the support of his family, Ron Lambert established Seattle Services in 1978, initially selling pump-sets and TrailCo travelling irrigators. Responding to the needs of customers, Ron designed a compact, robust yet easy to operate travelling irrigator. This PaceMakerä was eventually released in the early 1980's and became a favorite with many Tasmanian farmers. In 1983 Seattle Services was awa

rded the Power Farming Machine of the Year Award for its PaceMaker irrigator. Disaster struck Seattle Services in 1991 when fire destroyed workshops, equipment and vehicles. Never the less, Ron and his family were determined to rebuild, and with the support of family friends, loyal customers and employees, Seattle Services slowly but surely rose from the ashes to become the premier supplier of irrigation systems and services in Tasmania. Today, Seattle Services are the only manufacturer of travelling irrigators in the state. Since those early days, Seattle Services have continued to develop its products and services, but have also maintained the philosophy of always doing its best for the customer. In recent years, Seattle Services have become the sole agent for Reinke irrigation systems in Tasmania, including both pivot and linear irrigators. Mine dewatering has also become a major part of Seattle Services business. To support our mining and agricultural customers, Seattle Services has developed strong customer focussed support teams who can provide maintenance and repair services both in the field and in our purpose built workshops at Merseylea. Seattle Services is constantly striving to develop new and innovative solutions and designs to assist its customers. Today, we are leading research into new technologies and have also taken part in a number of projects with both the CSIRO and the Tasmanian Institute of Agricultural Research (TIAR).

Pacemaker refurb program
Is up and running
With the 1st 2x machines nearing completion. These customers elected to have their Nelson SR150’s, Nelson factory refurbed and they came back as good as ‘new’.
With upgraded trackframes and valveboxes to series 5 standardsi and a redesigned improved hosereel axle, these 1995 and 1999 model machines should now last another 25-30 years!!

Iconic Pacemaker Irrigator.
The Series 5 Pacemaker Soft Hose Irrigator.
Currently the last series Seattle Services manufactured.
This machine pictured (manufactured in 2009) is the 1st Mk5 to ever have a workshop service, after 16 years! The Mk5 irrigators have even more features than your standard Pacemaker.
Pacemaker the 1st travelling irrigator in the world with electronic speed control, the large winchdrum models also featured the unique "live" hosereel where the couplings are always connected into the hosereel. (only the 2000 models didn't have this feature) (The 2000 model was build in the 1990's and only about 20 were manufactured) These 2x features electronic speed control and 'live' hosereel make the Pacemaker easy to use and more water efficient with very accurate speed control. 2x Pacemakers will travel at the same speed, even if they have different hoses and nozzles.
The Series 5 extra's features include, improved access to the valvebox and water motor, ability to test the diaphram without dismantling the watermotor, improved overall stronger design, drawbar connection, trackframe, kingpins, rear axle, hosereel and hosereel axle, rear bar, front or rear sidelay, rear sidelay is height adjustable and can can have a roller fitted.
The long and short of it is, if you see or can find a series 5 Pacemaker for sale, buy it, a real heavy duty workhorse, easy to operate and with very even accurate water applications.
If you would like Seattle Services to make a Series 6 Pacemaker, please let us know. In the meantime if you want a Pacemaker, buy a 2/H one and deliver it to us for a full refurb and re-galv and we will rebuild it with new factory warranty, contact us for pricing.
