The Result

From the ideation stage to the final concept is a continual process of testing ideas, testing materials, colour compositions and forms to not only make the best practical use of the space but form a design that has been considered at every angle. Using programs like , we’re able to test some of these elements quickly. For example, we tested if the splashback should be a majority dark tile, but it was too dark. What about a lighter tile? It was too bright. A tile that had about 50/50 light to dark was juuust right. Each element you see goes through this kind of testing.

When we’re starting to design a project, our goal is to test the ideas as quickly as we can, get feedback and keep pushing forward. Through style scapes/mood boards or whatever you like to call it, we can curate our ideas and make sure we can get buy-in from the client and design team.

At 560 Oxley, we started the heart of the home - the kitchen and built out from there. Here we were looking at concrete benchtops, timber shelving and cabinets and an ornately tiled splashback with tones of copper in the mix.

This is where our ideas start to form.
