A few before during and after shots of the first stage of this stunning Bar Beach interior project we are working on at the moment
Careful planning, attention to detail, and meticulous preparation were key to achieving a fantastic result. We completely stripped the ironbark feature wall back to bare timber, removing the failed coating using coarse dustless sanding followed by fine finishing sanding. The entire process was virtually dust-free, keeping the home clean throughout the restoration.
The previous coating had deteriorated due to prolonged UV exposure, as an interior polyurethane product had been used in an area that required a more suitable exterior-grade system. Inadequate surface preparation from the original application also contributed to the failure.
To ensure a long-lasting finish, we applied a premium timber primer followed by an exterior-grade matt acrylic coating. The result is a beautiful, durable finish that enhances the natural character of the ironbark while providing the UV protection needed to withstand the years ahead
