🤠 Over the weekend, our team in Deniliquin swapped the worksite for the Deni Ute Muster, volunteering their time to run a food stall and raise funds for Deniliquin High School P&C following the devastating fire that destroyed more than 30 classrooms last year.

With many of the team calling Deniliquin home, it was an opportunity to give back to a community that means so much to them. Thanks to the team's fundraising efforts and the generosity of Muster-goers, over $87,700 was raised for Deniliquin High School P&C.

We were proud to see the team roll up their sleeves across the weekend, serving food, raising funds and supporting a community that has shown incredible resilience. It is a fantastic example of The Abergeldie Way in action and our people helping to build better communities where they live and work.

Last week, our rail team was busy working across the Hunter Valley, delivering multiple projects for our client ARTC. Some significant works were delivered, including a 445 metre track reconditioning site at Roxburgh, 240 metre reconditioning at Ardglen tunnel, 360 metres of lined cess drainage at Kankool, rail adjusting works, turnout bearer replacements and a myriad of miscellaneous scopes, including service locating and rail closures.

All works were delivered ahead of program, with the works at Roxburgh being handed back before possession handback in the morning despite the complexity of the delivery schedule and site constraints. With over 250 staff across the sites, it was an amazing result for the team to deliver all the scopes safely and to the highest quality.

Well done to all our contracting partners and the wider rail team.

🏆 Central Interceptor wins Project Excellence award at the Water New Zealand Excellence Awards 2026🏆

Delivered for Watercare, we're proud to have been part of the Ghella Abergeldie Joint Venture (GAJV), delivering the Central Interceptor, New Zealand's largest wastewater infrastructure project and a transformational investment in Auckland's future.

Over a seven-year construction program, the project delivered:
✅ 16.2 km main tunnel, with a 4.5 m internal diameter and depth ranging from 15 m to 110 m
✅ 2 link sewers, 3.2 km (2.1 m internal diameter) and 1.1 km (2.8 m internal diameter)
✅ 18 shafts reaching depths up to 75 m
✅ 17 construction sites across Auckland
✅ A pump station with 7 m³ transfer capacity

This latest award adds to an impressive awards season for the project, recognising excellence in both project delivery and the legacy the Central Interceptor provides through healthier waterways and a more resilient wastewater network.

🌱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 🌱

The team delivering Yarra Valley Water's Reliability Program recently rolled up their sleeves alongside Regenerating Farms, Melbourne Water and community partners for a tree planting day in Melbourne's east.

Together, they planted 700 trees to help regenerate the landscape as part of the Yering Gorge to Yarra Junction and Vital Landscapes Mid Yarra projects.

It's a small contribution to a much bigger effort to improve environmental resilience and create lasting benefits for local communities and the natural environment.

We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded a contract by Greatland to design and construct two 450 m deep and 6.2 m diameter blind bored ventilation shafts for the Havieron gold-copper project in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia. The award follows Abergeldie's successful delivery of a Major Services Contract (MSC) and the subsequent Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase.

The ventilation shafts will be developed concurrently, drawing on our specialist expertise in blind boring and deep shaft construction. Each shaft will extend approximately 450 m below ground with a finished internal diameter of 4.5 m, providing critical ventilation infrastructure for mining operations. The scope includes pre-sink works, temporary reinforced concrete structures, fabrication and installation of permanent composite liners through the full shaft depths, annular grouting and fabrication of shaft covers.

CEO Mark Bruzzone said, “With a proven track record delivering some of the world's largest diameter deep shafts, including the North Goonyella, Southern Coalfields, and Dendrobium Ventilation Shafts, we are recognised as a leader in blind bore shaft drilling and the delivery of complex underground infrastructure. This project builds on our successful early involvement with Greatland and reflects the confidence placed in our team to deliver a safe, efficient and technically complex solution.”

🏆👷 👷‍♀️We're proud to have been part of the Ghella Abergeldie Joint Venture (GAJV), which was recognised recently with the 2026 Survey and Spatial NZ Project Excellence Award for Watercare's Central Interceptor Main Works Project.

The award recognises the surveying, spatial engineering and digital assurance systems that enabled multiple first-time-right tunnel breakthroughs into permanently constructed structures across more than 16 kilometres of tunnel beneath Auckland.

A fantastic achievement by the entire project team and another example of the innovation, precision and collaboration behind one of New Zealand's most significant infrastructure projects.
