Class of 2013

After Year 12: Studied a "Bachelor of Communications with a major in Public Relations & minor in Marketing" at Swinburne University.

Now: “ I now currently work as a Marketing Coordinator for Supamac, a boutique agency specializing in commercial property. During this time I've also traveled around America twice, visiting LA, San Francisco, NYC, Florida, Texas, Georgia, New Orleans, North Caroline and I've also spent time in the UK traveling around Wales, London, Belfast, Glasgow & Edinburgh. I'm a UK citizen so will be definitely planning on going back when we're allowed and living in Wales for a while."

"Don't stress about what you're going to do, I took about three different detours and ended up in an area that I love. Think about what you like at school and look at all the different career paths related to that field - media isn't just for those who want to work in film & TV! English isn't just for those who want to be a journalist & drama isn't just for actors. These were all my favourite subjects in school and they all help in some capacity in my current role. I didn't just think about what would be a good job or what will make me money, finding something you enjoy doing feels way better than earning more money from a job you hate, trust me! "

To celebrate World Teachers’ Day on Friday 29 October, Ourschool spoke to a few alumni who’ve been involved in our program at their public high schools.

Ringwood Secondary College's very own Emily Lodge (class of 2017) had some kind words to share about her gratitude for a particular staff member. As alumni you are able to look back and appreciate the teachers that made a positive impact in your life. Let's celebrate world teachers day and all the teachers at Ringwood Secondary College that helped support us!

Can you think of any teachers that made an impact in your life/learning? Comment below or email [email protected]

We asked them to remember an inspirational teacher. This is what they said:

Here are some of the proposed designs for the new STEM center that will be replacing the old science block.

What is STEM?
"STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering and mathematics — in an interdisciplinary and applied approach. Rather than teach the four disciplines as separate and discrete subjects, STEM integrates them into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications."

Are you working in a field/career that falls under these disciplines? The alumni program coordinator would love to hear from you - [email protected]

Andrew Amos is making positive changes for Melbourne and our planet!

Andrew was the head prefect of his year (2010), he stared in multiple production, designed a sculpture for the college (which is still on display proudly on campus grounds), and even came back to the college after graduating to be part of the college council! Since graduating from Ringwood Secondary College he has been following his passions and setting goals. Over the last few years he has been working as an Urban Designer and is keen on developing policies around his field. Follow the link below to read more about Andrews journey and success.

Ringwood Secondary College are proud of all the achievements Andrew has made and can not wait to see what else he has planned for the people of Melbourne!
