After 2 years the stars aligned and we finally got to meet ✨
Such a gorgeous soul & I’m so glad to have finally met her…Meet my doula sister, Jacqui from .to.soul who I am excited to announce will be my back up Doula for my Rockhampton & surrounding clients and hopefully one day in the near future we will get the opportunity to work alongside eachother for a beautiful free birthing mumma 💖
Jacqui & I both did our Doula training with the gorgeous, talented & amazing Vicki Hobbs so it made it even more special that we have come together in collaboration 💖

✨️Step Up for Breastfeeding: Educate and Support

✨️"Fed is Best" Evolves to "Informed and Supported is Best"

✨️I was fortunate to be apart of the WBW Annual Photo Collective this year hosted by the beautiful

I feel incredibly blessed and proud to have breastfed my three babies (and still breastfeeding my youngest).
Until 5months ago I had not experienced difficulties feeding, but that all changed after the birth of my 3rd daughter and holy fxxkkk did it give me a whole new appreciation for how difficult and painful breastfeeding can be and why some women do not continue.
Thankfully my wife being the incredible support she is reached out, researched and booked the soonest possible appointment for a local Lactation Consultant (the Amazing IBCLC Amy Deme) and our issues were resolved within a couple of weeks. 🙌

I have breastfed
I have expressed and bottle fed EBM
I have formula fed

The "fed is best" mantra was born from a place of judgment free inclusitivity and while this is still absolutely implied, we all know that our breast milk has by far the most beneficial qualities for our babies. The aim of "educate and support" is to effectively educate parents on ALL feeding options and provide them with adequate support during the postpartum journey whichever feeding method they have chosen (or in some cases have little-no choice in.)

🤍 Mother Meets - SurgetoSoul, Jacqui Harris - Doula clients and friends past, present and future (+ anyone and everyone who would like to join) gathering to meet, play and catchup x
Held every 3rd Monday of the month.

🤍 Moon Circle - Gather in circle with like-minded people and create magic with the moon energies. Held once a month at Xanadu Yoga.

💣 Truth Bomb 💣
When I inform women that they are "ALLOWED" (gross) to say no... That they didn't have to have that test, or accept that intervention or recommendation or medication IF they didn't want to, IF their gut was telling them otherwise, IF based on an informed choice they knew and wanted an alternative, IF they needed more time, IF for no reason at all they could simply say no... 🤯
Despite what years of gaslighting has taught us YOU are the expert of you and YOU are always the authority in your birth. It is up to you to have all of the information and make informed decisions when it comes to your care so you are not left feeling like you had no power in your experience.
Refusal is ALWAYS a choice available to you.
