Not only will it make your tax reporting a breeze, it will also allow you to make smarter financial decisions about your business. Is there a time of the month where your business is quieter? Try to book a day each month out during that time for bookkeeping. This might not seem like a quick admin tip, but the amount of time it can save you, in the long run, is unbelievable. In addition, you will always have the peace of mind that your books are in order. My formal qualifications include:
• 9 years’ experience working in
Government as an Executive Support
Officer, specialising in Finance and
Assets.

Administration.

Leadership.

I particularly enjoy document creation, design, and formatting, but I am skilled in all aspects of admin work.

Set aside time to respond to your emails.

One of the most counter-productive activities is constantly replying to emails and other forms of communications. Phone calls obviously can't go unanswered, but most people don't expect instant responses to emails. Not only that but constantly stopping what you're doing to reply to emails can result in completely losing focus from the task you were previously focusing on and it can take a while to get back into the zone. Try scheduling some time to manage your emails once in the morning and once in the afternoon.

Once again Friday has rolled around and we welcome the promise of the week end.
How has your week gone?
Have you strived to reach some of your goals?
I have not extended myself this week, I have dragged myself through each day and completed the minimum requirements. I have been unwell for some time but I am pushing through. I have kept my word and managed to post each day even though it is difficult to be optimistic and encouraging when my brain is so foggy.
I am committed to my long term goals so I tell myself to

What is Email Management?

Email management is about having a system for responding to incoming emails and saving/filing important emails so they can be easily retrieved when required.

It is important to have a system in place that can ensure that all incoming emails are actioned efficiently and sent emails are then filed where they can be easily found.

Here are 5 tips to help improve the way you manage your daily emails:
1. Allocate a specific time to action your emails everyday. Depending on the nature of your business you may need to check your email more than once per day, but it is still good practice to allocate a specific time where you can systematically action items in your inbox.
2. Unsubscribe from promotional emails and disable social media email notifications. These emails fill up your inbox with unnecessary emails.
3. Follow the 1 minute rule. If it takes one minute to reply to an email, do it immediately.
4. Have a system to flag or categorize emails that require further action.
5. Have a simple method for filing emails that do not require any further action.

By having a clear and simple process for organizing you inbox each day you can improve your productivity and reduce your stress.
