I'm a spelling snob, and I make no apology for that. I don't think I'm more intelligent than people who post/publish things with spelling errors but those errors do irk me. That's where a proof-reader comes in very handy - especially for official/business documentation. It's very hard to catch your own errors as your mind automatically 'fills in the blanks', seeing what it expects to see rather than what's there.
