If you're a regular at Signasaurus, then no doubt you've met our main supervisor 🐕
Ask him and he will tell you he is Employee of the Month... every month.
He goes by various names, some of which we can't repeat here, (particularly after quality control incidents involving unattended lunches or unauthorised inspections of customer snacks!) but most of the time these names are quite affectionate. If you're one of our regular delivery drivers, you'll know him as The Tax Man... because he appears from absolutely nowhere and won't let you leave without paying your dues with a lengthy pat. The Government may hate competition, but at least with this kind of tax you leave with a smile instead of feeling like you've been duped.
On the odd occasion when someone new gingerly starts patting him, we inevitably get asked, "Does he bite?"..... "Only when you stop patting him" tends to leave people nervously wondering whether we're joking, just long enough for him to negotiate several more minutes of scratches (Frankly, his negotiation skills are better than some sales reps we've met! 😆). Speedbump is another of his titles. If you've ever tried driving up the side of the building while he's passed out in the sun on the bitumen, you'd be forgiven for thinking he had passed on..... but no, he simply expects traffic to divert around him. After all, he is the Union rep and according to him workplace conditions include uninterrupted sunbaking breaks and mandatory smoko naps.
Oh, and if you happen to spot him perched on the back of the Ute on a freezing winter morning, ice on his nose, shivering profusely looking like the world's saddest dog, don't feel too sorry for him. He insists on coming to work every single day and puts the absolute guilts on if left behind... (ask us how we know!). Apparently working from home hasn't got the same appeal in the dog world.
He is definitely not the prettiest in the dog world, but he reckons that is what gets him more pats and attention! So next time if you're in the shop and you hear a playful whine from the office, or are lucky enough to come in just as he leaves one of his lovely gaseous reminders that perhaps dinner portions were a little generous last night, just know that he isn't too far away and will hunt you down for a pat if he thinks he can wrangle it. After all, staff and client mental health support and maintaining morale are roles he takes very seriously. By the way... no preferred pronouns around here... just Duke. 😅
