Where is Australian beef going?

Australian beef exports continue to demonstrate the strength of international demand, with more than 1.2 million tonnes shipped to 21 September 2026.

The United States remains our largest export destination, accounting for 31.3% of shipments, followed by South Korea (17.1%), Japan (16.8%) and China (13.5%).

Together, these four markets account for almost 79% of Australia's beef exports, highlighting their importance to our domestic cattle market.

With strong export demand, changing trade conditions and significant numbers of cattle on feed, the performance of these key markets is important to monitor.

Harvest is upon us! Crikey that came up quickly.
