I've decided it's time for me to slow down and semi retire.
I am no longer doing repairs and modifications for NEW customers.
I will still service existing customers.

I will still be building straight load floats, to my standard specifications only.
But no more Angleload floats.

Another 80s float is good for another 30 years.
The float has been fully sandblasted, including chassis and wheels.
Rusted frame and cladding replaced.
Side door replaced.
New cushions
New breeching doors
New floor and taildoor rubber
Splits in the fibreglass roof repaired and the roof painted.
New front window.
New Aluminium stone guard on front
Old lights replaced with LED lights

The float is finished. It had it's roadworthy inspection done yesterday, ready for the customer to register it.
This float had many challenges, I couldn't put the wheels and the roof on until it was out of my workshop. It has a clar height of 2.4m. And the weather wasn't congusive for painting, I had to heat my workshop up to 20 degrees, thank God for diesol fan heaters.

I have to make up skates to put under it, so I can get it out the door. I can't put the wheels on until it is outside.

Could this be what your floor is like, under the rubber? There was only 1 small soft spot that could be felt when you walked on the floor, and that was because the glue that was holding one of the six pieces of aluminium under the plywood had given way. The only thing that was keeping the horses foot from going through the floor onto the road, was the rubber.
