New toy day at SA Engineering.

Our new Doosan Puma GT3100LM CNC turning centre has officially arrived and is now settling into the workshop.

The truck turned up, the crane did the heavy lifting, and the team managed to get it into place without anyone needing a lie down afterwards.

This investment gives us extra in-house CNC machining capacity for precision components, complex parts, repair work, rotable parts, shafts, bushes, pins, flanges and the usual “can you just machine this up quickly?” jobs.

With 3-axis capability and live tooling, the Puma also allows us to turn and mill components in one setup, helping improve accuracy, efficiency and turnaround on more complex work.

Great work by everyone involved in getting it landed safely.
A big thanks to Boom Logistics for the heavy lifting and Kemp Electrical & Maintenance for getting this beast wired up and ready for action.

We’re on the hunt for a hands-on Site Project Supervisor who can keep jobs moving, crews organised, clients happy, and still knows which end of a spanner to hold. Bonus points if you know a flat tyre is a stop-now problem, not a monitor-and-review problem.

Based in Roxby Downs, this is a great opportunity to step into a key role with SA Engineering and help lead our site projects, maintenance works and shutdown support.

Congratulations to our apprentice Michael on being nominated for 1st Year Apprentice of the Year. A great reflection of his effort, commitment, and the strong future ahead of him 👏👏

Currently undertaking his apprenticeship through CEG and hosted by SA Engineering in Roxby Downs, Michael was nominated for Best 1st Year Apprentice - Mechanical Engineering at the 2026 ATEC Training Awards & Graduation Ceremony, where he proudly made it to the finals.

Being recognised among the top apprentices in the field is an incredible achievement and reflects his skill, dedication, and perseverance 🔧💪

🎉 BIG CONGRATS! 🎉

We’re proud to announce that one of our apprentices has officially completed his trade !

After plenty of early starts, hard work, learning curves (and a few “character building” moments ), he’s come out the other side as a fully qualified tradesman — and a bloody good one at that.

He’s now competently running both CNC and manual machines often at the same time, producing quality work day in and day out, and we couldn’t be happier to have him as part of the team.

Massive thanks for the effort, dedication and commitment you’ve put in, it’s been great watching you grow from apprentice to tradesman.

Trade’s done, congrats! Now when things go wrong you can finally pass the blame onto the apprentices like a proper tradesman 😂

Well done Lachlan, we’re stoked for you and keen to see what’s next!

Finally, to our customers — thank you for your continued trust and confidence in SA Engineering. We value the opportunity to support your operations and do not take that responsibility lightly.

Looking ahead, we are entering 2026 with strong momentum. The year ahead will focus on continued capability expansion, including further investment in our systems, workforce development, and compliance frameworks, ensuring we continue to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients and industry partners. Alongside this, we have some exciting announcements to come, which we look forward to sharing in due course.

We are proud of what has been achieved this year and look forward to continuing to work together in the year ahead.
