Is almost a prerequisite when purchasing a large home in one of the hottest postcodes in the state. And there's nothing worse coming home to a sauna especially when you have a beast waiting to be fired up.

The problem with that is having a big air-con system and running it moderately will soon burn a hole in your pocket quicker than a bad day at Melbourne Cup.

There is some good news - if you have solar installed from SA Energy your in luck, if not then call us. Below is a quick tip how to best utilise your solar system production to off-set your air-con usage.

Providing your home is well insulated the key is to set your air-con to come on whilst the solar is still producing good power. The orientation of the solar modules on your roof will be a factor as east faced modules will not off-set moderate loads late in the afternoon.

By cooling the house down throughout the afternoon will eliminate your air-con having to do too much hard work when solar production is low.
