Today we were back on the trains servicing a new rail client.
It’s been a while since we’ve had a rail job, so it was great to get amongst the trains and get stuck in.

New client, different workplace and plenty of gear to check — just another day at the office for us!

I’ve decided to have a crack at video editing and put together something a little different!
While I’m still learning the editing side of things, one thing I know very well is fire equipment needs to be inspected and maintained regularly.

Fire extinguishers, fire blankets, hose reels and other fire safety equipment can sit there for years without being touched — but when you actually need them, you need to know they're going to work!

Regular inspections can identify issues such as damage, corrosion, expired equipment, incorrect pressure or equipment that simply isn't fit for use.

So, what do you reckon — how did I go with the video editing?

And more importantly… when was the last time your fire equipment was checked?

What a way to start our week an early start (4am) and it got cold (-3 degrees) on our way to Narromine to service a client's office before heading to Narrabri to service their other office tomorrow.

⚡ Just because it looks new doesn't mean it's safe! ⚡

While servicing one of our tradie clients recently, we came across a portable RCD box that appeared to be in excellent condition from the outside. However, during testing it failed, so we took a closer look.

Once opened up, the cause became obvious – internal burn marks and signs of overheating that couldn't be seen externally.

This is a great reminder that visual inspections alone aren't enough. Electrical safety equipment can develop hidden faults that only proper testing will uncover.

Regular Test & Tag and RCD testing helps identify these hazards before they become a serious risk to people, property, and business operations.

Stay safe. Test it, don't just trust it. 👷‍♂️⚡

⚠️ A timely reminder about electrical safety ⚠️

While carrying out testing and tagging at a new client's facility recently, we discovered a power lead that was still in use despite having an "Out of Service" tag attached from the previous company.

An out-of-service tag is there for a reason. It indicates that the equipment has failed inspection, is damaged, or has been identified as unsafe for use. Continuing to use equipment that has been tagged out can expose staff to serious risks, including electric shock, fire, or equipment failure.

Electrical safety is everyone's responsibility.
If you see an item with an out-of-service tag, don't use it.

Stay safe and always take electrical hazards seriously.
