Thank goodness today is over! Our little love had surgery today and i found it way harder than i expected. Seeing your baby wheeled away unconscious, knowing that a stranger is going to perform surgery on her heart without you there, is utterly terrifying! Thankfully we had the most beautiful team looking after her, everything went well and she's not at risk any more. Feeling very grateful for all the words of love and support from our loved ones. Time to rest and recover now ❤️‍🩹

I had a little cry finding this book today. This is from the very first lady i ever looked after as a carer. We had such a special connection and still to this day i have never met anyone else like her. She never had a bad word to say! Some people you just can't help but fall in love with. I spent time thinking of her and the stories she shared, the giggles we had, and the smilarities we shared even with decades between us. I wish i could tell her that i have my own little Violet now, she would be so thrilled 🥰 ###

I'm so proud of myself today...it's been a long 11 years, but today i got through my big girl's birthday with no panic attacks, no flashbacks, and only minimal clock watching. Usually her birthdays are really difficult for me and i find it really hard to celebrate the day of her birth when it was the worst day of my life. I'm usually checking the clock every 2 minutes, constantly having flashbacks of where i was at that time, feeling super jumpy, panicky, irritable and stressed all day. But today i survived, i feel like i am in my own body today and i'm so thrilled!!
