🌍 TASTE THE WORLD: NEXT STOP, YIRGACHEFFE, ETHIOPIA 🇪🇹

We know how much you all loved dropping in for our International Coffee Day event, and yes, we loved hosting you, tasting with you, and sharing stories of the different regions, growers, and processes that our amazing growers are producing.

Where as our current Ethiopian is a special preparation, first pick, natural from the Sidama region, our next premium Ethiopian will be coming from one of the most famous coffee-growing regions in the world - Yirgacheffe.

And what is even more lovely, is this lot of beans are coming to us from a single farmer, Mr Mengeche Derso.

Naturally processed, we’re tasting:

🍐 Dried pear
🍮 Gentle caramelisation
🍯 Beautiful sweetness
✨ Mellow, balanced acidity

It’s the kind of coffee that you can taste it all in the cup - altitude, climate, processing, the farmer behind it all.
For us, that's what it's all about.

WE’RE FOUR! 🏴‍☠️

It might be our birthday, but unlike most four year olds, we share...it’s all about YOU.

Our Very Important Pirates.

Near, far, and sometimes here more often than you probably intended when you said you were “just popping in for a coffee”. 😁

We launched at St Philip's Christian College - Port Stephens back in 2022. Our mates and family were among our first customers.
Thanks for taking one for the team - and thankfully coming back!

Four years on, there are a few more of you.

Since moving into "HQ" madly just before Christmas - yep 23rd December 2024 (!!), you’ve filled the place with conversations, music, ideas, laughter, dogs and a frankly excellent supply of homemade treats.

We make the coffee, but you guys keep joining us at the table.

To everyone who drops in, orders from afar, takes our beans home, pours Pirate at work or tells a mate about us - thank you.

To our team, work neighbours, business partners and the communities who welcome us in - thank you for being part of it.

And to everyone who gets behind the fundraising, the big adventures and our commitment to men’s mental wellbeing: you help make the “Do Good” happen.

Running a small family business keeps us on our toes. We don’t have it all figured out. But we know what we’re here for: great coffee, looking after our people, doing something worthwhile and having some fun along the way.

Here’s a look at some of the people and moments that have made these four years. Plenty of you aren’t pictured, but you’re very much part of the Pirate story.
