Here's one that stings a little: since 1 November 2023, your empty w**e bottles have been worth 10c each. Every single one.

If you've been popping them straight in the recycling bin for the last couple of years, you're not alone, most people had no idea. Glass w**e and spirit bottles from 150ml to 3L all count, and no barcode required.

So next time you clear out the bottles after a dinner party or a big weekend, set them aside instead. Bring them in and we'll pay you cash on the spot. Let's make sure no container goes to waste, one bottle at a time.

Curious what's actually behind school container fundraising?

Here's how it works. A local North Brisbane school filled a single bin with around 1,200 containers. We placed that bin on campus, handled the pickup, and sent the refund straight back to the school.

That's the School Program. We set it up for you, so the school doesn't have to build it from scratch.

♻ Free bins placed on campus, with no upfront cost and no setup fee

🚛 Free scheduled collections, so staff and parents never have to haul bags to a depot

📅 Extra bin support for fetes, movie nights and events, when collection ramps up

💚 Fundraising toolkits and collection bags ready to go

The containers your kids drink at the canteen become funds the school can actually use, at 10¢ each. It's a simple system, and we do the heavy lifting.

If your school or early learning centre would like to get involved, we'd love to chat about how we can help.

One of our local dads had been quietly saving containers since Term 2.

Three bags. 600 containers. $60 straight to the school P&C for the fete.

He dropped them at our 24/7 bag drop on the way to work, done in under two minutes. Just bag them, tag them with your member number, and you're on your way.

It's such a simple habit for a North Brisbane household, and it adds up to real dollars for the kids. Every container counts, and this one helped fund something the whole school gets to enjoy.

If your school or P&C is looking for an easy way to raise funds, our School Program offers free collection bins to gather eligible 10c containers on campus. Let's work together to turn everyday recycling into a win for the classroom.

Reckon that pile of cans in the garage is worth much? One local family guessed about $8 after winter.

We counted 340 containers. That's $34 in cash, paid on the spot.

Winter in Brisbane means more time indoors and more drinks, so the containers pile up in the garage faster than you'd think. Most people are surprised by how much they've actually got once they bring the bag in.

At 10c a container it adds up quickly. Drop your eligible bottles and cans in, we'll count them for you and pay cash in hand, usually in and out in around 15 minutes. 💰

We're here every day and always happy to help. Bring your bag in and let's put that stockpile to good use. ♻

Got a boot full of cans you keep meaning to sort out? Here's the good news. ♻

Drop off 200 containers at our 24/7 Bag Drop, and you're back in the car before your coffee goes cold. That's $20 for the household, all done in under two minutes.

Just bag it, tag it with your Containers for Change member number, and drop it. Your refund lands straight in your account.

There's no queue and no set hours to work around, so pop by whenever it suits you and we'll take care of the rest.

Together, let's keep every container out of landfill and a bit more cash in your pocket.

If your school P&C had to pick one fundraiser this term, sausage sizzle or a container collection drive, which one wins? 🌭♻

We love a good sausage sizzle as much as any North Brisbane family, and a container drive has a few things going for it too.

With our School Program, your school gets collection bins to gather eligible drink containers on campus, and every one of them is worth a 10¢ refund. There's no cooking in the sun, the BBQ stays home, and the collection is free.

Students get to be change makers, the school raises funds, and it all adds up one container at a time.

So, which side are you on? Whether you're a sausage sizzle loyalist or a container drive convert, let us know in the comments. 👇

We're always happy to chat about how your school can get started.
