Rain water tank pads, built to last..

This project involved constructing and retaining purpose-built tank pads on a sloping rural property, creating a level, stable and practical platform for the tanks while making the most of the existing ground levels.

We used sandstone blocks to retain the pad, carefully building the wall and establishing the levels before preparing the internal pad.

The result is a solid, level and well-contained area that integrates into the surrounding property while providing a reliable foundation for the water tanks.

Jobs like this are all about the preparation — getting the levels right, managing the fall, retaining the ground properly and creating a stable base that will stand up to the weight of a full tank.

Drainage first, driveway second.

A driveway is only as good as what’s underneath it.

This project involved installing a new drainage crossing and constructing the driveway over the top — designed to safely move water underneath the access rather than allowing it to run across and damage the road.

We installed the pipe, established the correct levels and fall, surrounded the crossing with suitable drainage rock and built up a solid gravel transition over the top.

The key is getting the preparation right before the driveway material goes down.

Water will always find the easiest path. If you don’t give it a controlled path underneath the driveway, it will eventually find its own way through it — taking gravel, creating soft spots, rutting and potentially washing the road out.

From excavation and pipe installation through to gravel placement, shaping and compaction, it’s all about building the job properly from the ground up.

Good drainage isn’t something you notice when it works — it’s something you notice when it doesn’t.

From a bare paddock to a 400m sand gallop.

This is what happens when experience, precision and planning come together.

What started as uneven ground has been transformed into a purpose-built 400m round sand gallop, designed to provide a safe, consistent and free-draining training surface for horses year-round.

The numbers behind this project tell the story:

-Over 4,000m³ of earth cut, filled and reshaped to achieve the correct elevations and sub-grade.

-1,000 tonnes of imported gravel installed to create a stable, free-draining foundation.

-450 tonnes of washed and screened sand imported and trimmed to deliver a premium riding surface.

-400 metres of geofabric and 400 metres of ag line drainage installed beneath the track to ensure long-term performance and effective water management.

The finished product looks simple—but achieving the correct levels, drainage and consistency across an entire 400m circuit takes careful planning, accurate machine operation and attention to every detail.
