Golden, crisp and covered in toasted sesame seeds 🌾

This week’s Bake of the Week is a Sesame Seed & Rosemary Fougasse! Inspired by the rustic breads of the South of France. Light, chewy, full of flavour and perfect torn apart while still warm.

The roasted sesame seeds bring a nutty crunch while the rosemary adds that earthy, fragrant finish that makes the whole kitchen smell incredible.

Best enjoyed with olive oil, cheese boards, soups or simply on its own straight from the oven.

Happy Monday baking gang!

Now that the weather’s cooling down, you might notice your starter getting a bit slow and sleepy. Totally normal this time of year, but it does mean we need to give it a little extra love.

I like to switch up what I’m feeding it through the colder months. Here I’m using our organic stoneground whole wheat, starters absolutely love whole grains. They’re full of nutrients, fibre and heaps of flavour, which helps get things moving again.

If your starter needs a proper boost, try rotating your feeds a bit. You could do a rye feed, then whole wheat, then back to white, and just keep that cycle going. It works wonders.

Just keep in mind that changing up your flours can slightly affect your final loaf, so don’t be surprised if things look or taste a little different.

The humble ANZAC biscuit golden, crispy edges with that perfect chewy centre. Made from simple pantry staples, it’s a classic for a reason and just right with a cup of tea or a little afternoon treat.

We’ve added our own twist with White Buckwheat Flour for a slightly nutty flavour.
