We demolish a lot of different buildings, factories, homes.
But my heart is torn that this amazingly architecturally designed house is going to be pulled down.
This house is a work of art!
It may not be everyone's taste, but how could you tear it down for a plain Jane boring house!

When the Phone Rings at 2:30am...

It’s never a dull moment in the world of wrecking and recovery.
The call came through just after 2:30am — another serious truck accident on the Western Hwy. (Sadly, two people were killed Friday night near Burrumbeet.)

This time, a B-double had gone up in flames just past the Wallace overpass. The crews on scene were urgently needing an excavator and tippers. Unfortunately, every excavator we had was already out on jobs.

And let’s just say, not everyone’s blood alcohol level was quite truck-driving ready at that hour. So, back to bed we went.

Just as we drifted off — the phone rang again.

By 6am, our two “party boys” were up, loaded, and heading out with the semi tipper (thankfully, an excavator was found). They’ve only just walked back in the door — absolutely drenched from today’s lovely spring showers (read: torrential rain).

The Western Hwy was closed for around eight hours in total.
Thankfully, the driver in this incident is okay — just a bit hungry!

The boys cane home and crashed out on the couch and caught up on some well-earned rest.
And honestly, it was a perfect day for it.

Baton down the hatches boys and girls!

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning with gusts of up to 100km/h expected across the state over the next 24 hours.

Locations which may be affected include Melbourne, Geelong, Mildura, Horsham, Warrnambool, Maryborough, Ballarat, Stawell, Hamilton, Portland, Wonthaggi, Bacchus Marsh, Dandenong Ranges, Mt Hotham and Mt Buller.

If you are on a worksite in affected areas:

• Keep the worksite clean, securing objects that could become airborne.
• Examine and strengthen structures to ensure they will remain standing during strong winds.
• Secure scaffolding and other temporary structures so they can’t be blown over.
• Where possible, re-schedule work until conditions improve (e.g. cease crane operations until wind speeds turn to acceptable levels).
• Where work proceeds, wear eye protection to stop dust and debris from blowing into the eyes.
• Wear fall protection and secure ladders at the top and bottom.
• Be careful when handling large flat items, such as signs, as they can act as a sail.

🌧️ Another beautiful wet day here in Ballarat.

Coffield the Wrecker has been entrusted with the delicate demolition of “Wyndarra” – a heritage-listed period home that sadly suffered devastating fire damage.

With such a tight site and very little room to manoeuvre both the excavator and the bin, this project calls for precision and patience. Much of the work is being carried out by hand to carefully preserve the timber flooring, which simply couldn’t support the weight of heavy machinery.

Today we lost our teenager.
We lost him forever.
Something we will never be witness to again.
But, in return we gained a man.
A wonderful man whom we am so ever proud of.
A man full of compassion and empathy.
A man who is intelligent, bright and extremely resourceful.
A man who at his age, has achieved so much and learnt so much in such a small amount of time.
A man who has wonderful qualities that makes a mother so very chuffed.
An infant baby that would never sleep.
A marvellous toddler that was curious and always smiling.
A young child that was ever so helpful and fun loving.
An older child that was full of love, respect and joy.
A young teenager eager to help everyone he met.
An older teenager that was full of naughty, mischievous, hilarious, adventures and experiences.
To a man that is fully capable, reliable, resilient, thoughtful and full of love.
You will always be our baby no matter how old you are. or how grown up you become.
You have become a strength to be reckoned with.
Stood up and taken charge when called upon.
Shown leadership qualities well beyond your years.
Took on responsibilities of a seasoned professional.
And developing into a trusted and observant businessman who has helped carry the family in times of need,
Stepped up when needed, and made decisions that benefited all involved.
You have proven yourself to be more than just a son and an employee.
You are a protector of family.
A boss.
A forward thinker.
A positive influence.
A wonderful human being.

An amazing nephew,

A couple of hyperlapse videos of the Coffield Boyz pulling the concrete shed down

Father/son duo, Shayne & Wurth Coffield, knocked this old cement brick shed into shape yesterday.

Of all the days this old shed had to come down, the winds were blowing a gale.

With the old shed situated extremely close to the owners home, the rotating grabs were a God send.

The owner now has a wonderful selection of hardwood timber he's going to cut up for firewood, and the Coffield Boyz just have to now go in, pull up the concrete slab and transport all the concrete slab and bricks off for recycling.

Another very happy, and releived customer of Coffield the Wrecker .
