It has been 59 years since 90.77% of Australian voters voted ‘Yes’ to change the Constitution so that like all other Australians, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples would be counted as part of the population and the Commonwealth would be able to make laws for them.
Every single state had a majority result for the ‘Yes’ vote. It was one of the most successful national campaigns in Australia’s history.

The 'Bringing Them Home' report shared this history with the nation and made wide-ranging recommendations to address the enormous harm caused to Stolen Generations survivors and their families.

This year’s national theme, From Sorry to Action, reflects expectations that governments take urgent steps to create tangible and measurable change within survivors’ lifetimes.

Curijo Senior Consultant Terri Bird worked alongside a staff member of the First Nations Economic Wellbeing, Centre for Economic Change, NSW Treasury on Kamilaroi Country in Gunnedah NSW, delivering yarning sessions with staff at Winanga-Li ACFC for an evaluation project. All staff were very welcoming, engaging and great people to sit down and yarn with over the two day period.

We were treated to an inspirational hands-on Team Motivational Map session with Marie Ball from MBC Insights.

It was a great 2 days of much needed and thoroughly enjoyed connection time for the team!
