What an amazing effort by all! 🫶🏻
I want to take a moment to say thank you! Because what has happened over the last few days has genuinely humbled me.
What started as a simple call for help with .22 ammunition has now reached 2.4 million people and been shared more than 3,500 times. That alone shows how many Australians care about our farmers and want to help when it really matters.
We also put up a post offering help to affected farmers, asking people to comment with:
• what they can offer
• where they’re located
• a contact number
So far, around 140 people have put their hands up. That post is there so farmers can go back at any time, scroll through, and connect directly with the help that suits them best. With the amount of offers coming in, this was the simplest and most effective way to coordinate everything.
The original ammo post was only made on Saturday. One lady commented that she didn’t have a fi****ms licence but asked if she could help by donating money towards ammunition instead. I replied to her comment with our details, and the response that followed was nothing I could have prepared for.
Since then, $43,432 has been donated by 408 people, people who just wanted to help in whatever way they could.
I’ve spent a lot of time reading the stories people have shared in the comments. Some of them are hard to read, but they explain exactly why this matters. After fires, farmers are faced with the reality of injured livestock and wildlife, and often they have to act quickly to prevent further suffering. When help, access, or supplies are delayed, that suffering only gets worse. That’s the side of this that isn’t always talked about, but it’s very real.
We will keep taking donations over the coming days, because many landholders still haven’t been able to access their properties and are yet to see the full impact of the fires.
I want to be absolutely clear about this:
I guarantee that every single cent donated will go straight back to farmers.
There will be no fees, no added costs, and no one taking a cut.
All funds will be distributed through local networks, using people on the ground, so the money goes exactly where it’s needed.
To everyone who has donated, shared, offered help, or spoken up, thank you. This is Australians backing Australians when it counts most.
