Ok, so a little bit of information about JACS. JACS is basically me, Jill Johnston. I completed my Bachelor of Business, major in Accounting at USQ, as Toowoomba was my home town. I'm also a Certified Practicing Accountant. I have 25 years of experience in the accounting profession.

From 1990 to 1998, I worked for a variety of companies, as Accountant, Financial Controller, Systems Manager and the like. During this time I developed a love of the design and implementation of accounting systems. In 1998, with a view to starting a family and having some work/life balance, I started JACS. Since this time, I have helped in excess of 100 businesses in implementing their accounting systems, training staff, sorting out GST, job costing, and many, many other things. I don't even want to think about how many BASs I've prepared - thousands! I've even stepped in on short notice to handle the accounts when a staff member has suddenly left - even when this meant travelling with a four month old baby to Airlie Beach (tough gig).

I have a home office to keep my overheads, and thus my rates, low. With cloud accounting, it's so simple now to just log in to your live data file at any time. However, I'm happy to come to your office if you prefer (particularly if you have a coffee machine!)

Many people are surprised to hear what I do, and say they would hate to do my job and would find it very stressful. Well I just love it! There is nothing more rewarding professionally, for me, than to see the look of relief flooding a client's face when I tell them not to worry, I'll handle it (payroll, GST, super, job costing, bank reconciling, etc). Not to mention when I pull a new client back from the brink of collapse, brought about by extreme mismanagement by their previous (more expensive) accountant. As I've just done.

I can't build a house, cut hair or carry out electrical repairs, but I can make life a lot simpler for the people who do those things.
