Happy Australian Made Week 2026! To celebrate, we’re shining a spotlight on the recently completed green-and-gold Merrifield Estate project in Mickleham. Delivered for TRACT Consultants and MAB, this striking 8-metre-tall twin-tower playground is a showcase of Omnitech’s in-house manufacturing expertise and ongoing commitment to staying Australian Made.
Inspired by the concept of a “treetop walk”, the heart of the project is a 13-metre-long sky bridge constructed from steel-core rope and tensile mesh, connecting the two main towers high above the landscape below. As freshly planted trees mature into their new environment, the vision behind the design will continue to come to life — creating an immersive adventure space for young explorers.
Accessibility and inclusive play were equally central to the design approach. A wheelchair-accessible ramp leads visitors into elevated sensory play zones, which culminates in a thrilling descent via the 7-metre-tall tube slide from the crown of the main tower. Carefully considered entry points and varying levels of challenge allow users of all ages and abilities to engage with the space, either exploring within their comfort zone or building confidence through adventurous play.
Complementing the space is a collection of standalone play elements integrated throughout the landscape. Highlights include a trio of Omnitech’s newly developed trampolines — another product of our in-house design and manufacturing capabilities — alongside swings, a wheelchair-accessible spinner, tornado, and springer, completing this vibrant new community destination. 💚💛
