📍Glass studio at 1/15 Simcock Street, Somerville (mezzanine level – note: no wheelchair access)
👟 Wear fully closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get a little dusty
💰 $450 for the full 5 weeks – paid upfront via bank transfer or cash

✨ Ever wanted to create something truly beautiful with your own hands? Now’s your chance!

My Beginners/Intermediate Leadlight Class is running from next Wednesday 11th June & I’ve got a few spots left! Perfect for absolute beginners (no experience needed) or if you have experience and want to book a spot to work on your next project!!

You’ll learn how to design, cut, and assemble your own stunning glass piece in a friendly, relaxed environment. All materials and tools are provided for your first beginner panel – just bring your creativity (and maybe a friend 😉).

Waking up with dappled light streaming through this window in the loft.

When I set out on this build I had wanted to learn to make my own window and pretty much every single thing in the home. I quickly changed my thinking as I did want to move in after one year. I decided that supporting crafts people was the way to go, to have their beautiful work in my home.

Some features that have been hand crafted:
Kitchen bench out of Silky Oak
Steps up to the loft
All kitchen cabinetry custom
Circle window frame
Lead light
Raw edge kitchen shelves

It is really nice have these special creations in the home. In the end I am glad I found these skilled people and have the warmth of their work in my home.

Often these artisans do not have instagram, they are found by word of mouth.

My client who is a creative musician that also creates all the artwork for his albums and more designed this himself & had a ball!

The design changed drastically over a bunch of times but that was the fun of it. Better yet it has the pale amber glass that we removed from St Peter’s Church Toorak when installing new leadlights just a few metres up the road from his house.

I was finally able to install it back in November 2020 it into his front door after a long COVID Melbourne lockdown.
My client was over the moon with the end result. It came together better than he had envisioned. My task complete!

I turned my creativity to carpentry this time with a little direction from Andy Gray Revn48 Racing
To make this bird feeder for my sisters birthday using recycled timbers, old door handle and a reclaimed fancy post!

The timber door frame & door is close to

The was flattened out, the with were replaced & added a strengthening bar as it was severely bowed
