Baldwin RF-16 Sharknose
Not a first in Z gauge, Searails had years ago a shell suited to a MTL GP35, but the most accurate and detailed model to date. Designed by the very talentet Master Modeller Hideaki Takayanagi with a little input by myself. The shell is resin 3D printed as well as the trucks. To keep costs low and reliability high the chassis is a modified AZL F3/F7. Before somebody says that is not the correct bolster center-to-center distance, that's correct, but a fair compromise as for the reasons mentioned above. It still makes in my opinion a locomotive with a sound appearance. Horns, grab irons and hand rails are seperatly attached, decals custom made. The B-Unit will follow when I have some time, it's summer in down under and a very good one, too, therefore they are better things to do right now.

LIRR Baldwin-Westinghouse Boxcab Switchers
3D printed shells, original design in N gauge by master modeler Chris Schmuck under CC licence agreement, he made some amazing kitbashing and custom builds in Z gauge years ago, just look up Erie Berkshire at Trainboard...But now it appears he's active in N. Details added and shell down sized plus modifications to the shell and frame to suit a power unit. The motion power is provided by Toma Models 12V Super Slow Drive Unit. Both Boxcabs are powered and connected by a drawbar. Drawbar and couplers are my own design, 3D printed, too. Custom decals in gold lettering. Enjoy!
