The Climate Council predict that the Australian Government are likely to face scrutiny from other countries about whether Australia could meet the terms of the Paris Agreement with its current policies and emissions targets since Australian emissions are still rising.

This comes at a time when India, one of the world's largest greenhouse gas emitters, has ratified the Paris global climate agreement, committing to ensuring that at least 40% of its electricity will be generated from non-fossil sources by 2030.

C'mon Australia, wake up and smell the roses!!

Australian action on climate change has not kept pace with global momentum, climate groups say.

Whilst we have experienced a fairly cold winter this year, (in Victoria at least!) the global average temperature for July was 16.7 degrees, which is 0.67 degrees above the 20th-century average.

Yet another indicator that our planet is heating up! In fact, July was the hottest month since monitoring began in 1880.

July’s high topples the previous record set in July 2015. The month of July, when the seasonal temperature cycle peaks in the Northern Hemisphere, usually sees the highest global temperatures, according to NASA. (Huffington Post)
