Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day is a national holiday in Vietnam that honours the Hùng Kings, the founders of the country. The day is rooted in a simple but important idea: remembering where you come from, often summed up in our proverb “Uống nước nhớ nguồn” (When drinking water, remember its source).

It is recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (2012) and is marked by incense offerings, family gatherings, and visits to the Hung Kings Temple.
