ATO have launched a new online learning platform, https://smallbusiness.taxsuperandyou.gov.au/
This has been developed to provide free and professional education to support small businesses thrive. It provides a range of courses covering:
• business lifecycle stages – idea, start-up, day-to-day, change and exit
• reporting obligations – eg: businesses with employees, GST or fringe benefits tax
• learning needs – what good record keeping is, how to improve cash flow or
grow the business
• other circumstances – eg: help setting up a business, checking if the business is
viable or needs to be closed.

We had an executive meeting at The Pocket El Arish this morning and were treated to a delectable tub of lemon sorbet made on the premises. Thank you Tracey!

It was a taste test where you just had to keep coming back for more and before we knew it the tub was clean 🫣

We put the finishing touches on the plans for our 20 Year / International Womens Day event and then put the wheels in motion for our April event in Innisfail and our AGM in May in El Arish.

We are also brining some changes to the way we have members sign up and pay for membership to streamline the process, meaning less work for not only our executive but also you!

If you would like to join the executive please reach out as we would love the have all positions filled for the AGM in May.

Last night at our February dinner meeting at Kurrimine Beach Holiday Park we had a round table discussion about the future of the network - and I can tell you it is looking very strong and positive.

The energy was high and the ideas flowed and all I can say is make sure you stay tuned for our upcoming announcements!

It was wonderful to have 3 new businesses join us for the evening and I can't wait to welcome you onboard as members.

Shoutout to all attendees for coming along and sharing in the discussion - without our members the network would not exist.

Thank you also to the Kurrimine Beach Holiday Park - the venue was beautiful, the food delicious and service with a smile.

A Smarter Solution is a professional bookkeeping company with a client base that extends across multiple regions and industries.

We looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join our small team. Role will commence as a casual / part-time position (minimum of 15 hours per week) with some flexibility for work arrangements.

A minimum of 3 years demonstrated bookkeeping experience is essential, Cert IV in Bookkeeping is an advantage.

Successful applicant will be positive and motivated with an exceptional eye for detail as well as a great sense of humour!

• Bookkeeping Experience Essential
• Xero, MYOB, QBO & Reckon experience preferred
• Knowledge of GST Legislation
• Advanced Microsoft Office and typing skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work from checklists / procedures
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Attention to detail
• Willingness and ability to undergo further training as necessary
• Ability to work as both a team and autonomously
