The person at your door matters.

When you book with us, chances are it’s Jason who’ll be standing at your front door.

He’s been working in the electrical industry for more than 10 years, so he knows his stuff when it comes to the technical side of the job. But what I really love is the feedback we get about how he treats people.

Our tenant reviews regularly mention things like:

“Jason was right at the door on time.”

“He was polite and well dressed.”

“He was so professional.”

“Very friendly and easy to deal with.”

“He explained everything really well.”

And those comments mean a lot to us.

Because yes, we need to make sure the smoke alarms are compliant and the job is done properly but we’re also walking into people’s homes. Being on time, respectful, professional and friendly is just as important.

I know Jason is very good at what he does, but I’m probably most proud of the way he represents our business when he’s out on the road.

He’s not just checking smoke alarms. He’s representing us at your front door.

And judging by the feedback we get, he’s doing a pretty good job of it. 🥰

Behind Mid North Coast Smoke Alarms is Faye, and if you've ever dealt with us, you'll already know the difference.

Faye started Smoke Alarms Australia back in 2005 and grew it into a national business before selling it in 2013. Today she's back where she belongs, running a local business with her husband Jason and looking after homes and property managers right here on the Mid North Coast.

That experience matters. What sets us apart most, though, is the way we believe a local business should be run.

You deal with us. No call centres, no faceless national office. When you call, you're talking to someone who knows your area, your property and your business.

Relationships come first. We work closely with property managers and landlords to make their lives easier, not to tick a box and move on to the next job.

We care about the homes we inspect. A smoke alarm check isn't paperwork to us. It's about making sure the people living in that home have the protection they should have.

We tell you what you need to know. If something needs attention, we'll explain why. If it doesn't, we won't recommend work for the sake of it.

And we're part of the community. Faye doesn't only run a business here. She lives here, volunteers here and supports local organisations, because this is the community we're lucky to call home.

We might be a small husband-and-wife team, but we're not small on experience, care or commitment. When you book us, it's Jason at your door and Faye on the phone. You only ever get us.

Tonight we put our best foot forward for ‘Best Micro Business’ and Faye put herself out there for ‘Outstanding Business Leader’ in the Regional awards for 2026. Unfortunately we missed out this year on making it through to the next round but regardless we are so proud of ourselves! We’ve had a 54.5% increase on client numbers, we increased our revenue by 56.8% and our job retention rate has remained above 90% for the year. We couldn’t be happier! And you know what made us even happier? Was seeing our mates from Waves Campground, Macleay Air - Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Electrical, Sol Wellness Studio & Macleay Valley Business Chamber take home the finalist status for this years regional awards!

Ever wondered what actually goes up on your ceiling when we fit new alarms in your home?

We don't just fit any smoke alarm, we fit ones we'd happily put in our own home, and there are a few good reasons why.

They're interconnected. If one alarm senses smoke, every alarm in the home sounds together, so you get the warning wherever you are, not just in the room it started in.

They're built for a 10 year life. A sealed 10 year battery means no fiddly annual battery changes and no midnight low-battery chirp.

💙 Happy Property Managers Day! 💙

A little shout out today to all the Property Managers we know and work with.

We honestly don't know how you fit it all into one day! Between maintenance requests, legislation, inspections, owners, tenants and everything else that comes your way, it's certainly not an easy job.

We know there are plenty of days where things don't go to plan and you're the one trying to keep everyone happy. It's a role that probably doesn't get the recognition it deserves.

So today, we just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for everything you do, for your patience, your hard work and for somehow managing to get through every day with a smile.

We hope you all have a fantastic Property Managers Day, you all deserve it! 💙
