HONOURING THOSE WHO HELP US HONOUR OUR SPEAKERS & DIGNITARIES.

When people generously give their time, experience and presence to a PBN space, we do not take that for granted.

Our speaker and dignitary gift bags are one small way we say thank you — and we are equally deliberate about what goes inside them.

We select Pacific brands we believe are premium, beautifully presented and deserving of greater visibility. Some products have been generously gifted to us; others have been intentionally purchased by PBN.

For this first group, we are proud to acknowledge:
🌺
🌺
🌺
🌺

For us, there is purpose on both sides: acknowledging those who give their time to PBN while also placing quality Pacific products in front of people across business, government, industry and the professional sector.

Supporting Pacific business should be reflected not only in what we say, but also in what we purchase, showcase and choose to elevate.

Vinaka vakalevu, fa’afetai tele lava, meitaki ma’ata and mālō ‘aupito.

E+A | IN THE ROOM — THE FINAL PIECE!

We've introduced five inspiring journeys. Now it's time to introduce the person who will bring them together!

We're delighted to welcome Lavei Tukuafu as our facilitator and MC for Pacific Business Network's Exchange + Activation on 29 October in Melbourne.

Of Tongan heritage, Lavei holds a Bachelor of Theology and is currently undertaking postgraduate studies in the social field. She brings seven years of experience across community and faith-based organisations and currently works as a Youth Worker with Le Mana Pasifika.

Passionate about empowering future leaders, Lavei brings her experience in public speaking, leadership and engaging with people to our October E+A.

On the night, she'll introduce five speakers across four segments, sharing journeys spanning entrepreneurship, business, academia, the professions, food and media.

From emerging founders to established professionals, each brings different perspectives, experiences and lessons worth sharing.

And in true E+A style, the conversations won't end with our speakers. Guests will have opportunities between each journey to connect, exchange perspectives and explore where those conversations might lead.

Our sincere thanks to Mana Pasifika and for Multicultural Youth (CMY) for generously supporting Lavei's participation as our facilitator. We greatly appreciate their contribution.

We're excited to have Lavei complete our October E+A line-up!

SPECIAL GUEST | Mayor Virginia Tachos

We are delighted to welcome Mayor Virginia Tachos of Brimbank City Council as a special guest at our October Exchange + Activation.

Mayor Tachos has been a valued supporter of our Māori and Pacific community, and we are pleased to have her joining us for an evening centred on connection, capability and opportunity.

Local government has an important role to play in the wider ecosystem around business and professional growth.

For Māori and Pacific business owners, entrepreneurs and professionals, stronger relationships with councils can help create greater understanding of the businesses, capability and contribution already present within our communities — while also opening pathways to information, programs, economic development and future collaboration.

That is one of the reasons PBN deliberately brings different parts of the ecosystem into the same room.

Business. Government. Industry. Professionals. Community.

Not as separate conversations, but as people who can better understand what each other is building and where greater connection may be possible.

We look forward to welcoming Mayor Tachos into our October E+A room

SPECIAL GUEST | Gray-Barberio MP

We are pleased to welcome Gray-Barberio MP as a special guest at our October Exchange + Activation.

Anasina represents the Northern Metropolitan Region in Victoria’s Legislative Council and made history as the first Pacific Islander elected to Victoria’s state Parliament. Parliament of Victoria

Her presence in our October room is significant.

PBN is about more than bringing business owners and professionals together. It is about ensuring Māori and Pacific people are connected across business, government, industry, academia and community — because stronger pathways are created when those worlds understand one another and are part of the same conversation.

Anasina will also share a few words with us on the evening, and we are delighted to have her join our speakers, guests and wider PBN community.

As we enter our final week of registrations, October’s E+A is shaping into a room that reflects exactly what we want PBN to stand for: credible people, different perspectives, meaningful connection and pathways to what comes next.

PROFESSIONAL DOESN’T HAVE TO MEAN IMPERSONAL.

There is a certain energy we want people to feel when they walk into a PBN room.
Yes, the conversations matter. The introductions matter. The opportunities matter.
But so does how the room feels.

We want people to be able to talk business, share experience and explore opportunity without losing the warmth, humour, generosity and Pacific flavour that make the space feel natural rather than forced.

That means there can be serious conversation and plenty of laughter in the same room.

You can talk about where your business is heading, what you are working through, what you are building next — and still enjoy the people around you.

For us, that balance matters.

Professional does not have to mean stiff.

Purposeful does not have to mean formal.

And business does not have to lose its human side.

That is the kind of room we are continuing to build through Exchange + Activation.

WHAT YOU BRING MATTERS TOO.

A good PBN room is not built only by who is invited into it. It is shaped by what people are willing to bring with them.

Experience. Curiosity. Knowledge. A willingness to listen, share, contribute and connect someone else where they can.

You may walk into Exchange + Activation hoping to meet the right person or hear something useful — and you may. But someone else in the room may also benefit from what you already know, the road you have travelled, or the perspective you bring from your own work and experience.

That reciprocity matters to us.

We want people to leave having gained something worthwhile, but we also want them to recognise that they may have been part of someone else’s valuable moment too.

That is what makes a room richer.

And it is one of the reasons we continue to build PBN with purpose.

02/10/2026

COMMERCE BEGINS LONG BEFORE THE TRANSACTION.

For us, Commerce is not simply the sale, contract, referral or partnership at the end.

It is what happens before that.
Trust is built.
Capability is strengthened.
Relationships develop.
Knowledge is shared.
Businesses become better prepared for the opportunities that may come.

That is why Commerce sits alongside Connection and Capability in the PBN model.
Connection can open the door.

Capability helps you prepare.

Commerce is where those foundations may begin to translate into something tangible.

Not every conversation becomes business — nor should it.

But when relationships, readiness and opportunity align, that is where something meaningful can begin.
