In response to the devastating floods impacting Southwest Queensland, Australian fintech startup Rounda is inviting Australians to make a difference using their digital spare change.
Originally designed to help sports clubs and charities raise money through small everyday transactions, Rounda is now turning its powerful micro-donation platform towards flood relief. The app allows users to round up their purchases via , , or online transactions, donating the "digital loose change" to flood-affected families, farms, and businesses.
“I know the cost of living might hold some people back who’d usually give generously during a disaster,” said David Lister, Founder of Rounda. “So Rounda takes tiny amounts instead of a lump sum—then adds everyone’s small change together to make an impact.”
Rounda users are in full control, able to set limits, turn off donations anytime, and choose how long they want to support. The platform is designed for simplicity and transparency, ensuring donations go directly to registered charities active in the affected regions.
“Some communities are in the clean-up phase, but others are only just beginning to feel the full impact,” Lister added. “It’s not too late to give—and Rounda makes it easy.”
Funds raised through the Rounda Flood Relief Appeal will be distributed to trusted charitable organisations working on the ground, including those providing food, shelter, mental health support, and infrastructure repairs.
