The refreshed SharkSmart campaign is officially live and swimming! 🏖️

Rolling out across video, online, airport and transit, plus streaming audio, it’s paddling out right as Queenslanders head into summer and the Christmas break.

Inspired by the cool look and feel of illustrated postcards, the campaign reinforces the behaviours that locals already know and do, and keeps water safety feeling natural, social and second nature.

Proud to bring this to life with our buddies at QLD’s Department of Primary Industries. Shakas all round! 🤙🏼

👋💬📱 Meet Rosie Hodgson, our new Account Director / Social Media Manager, and the newest human behind the hashtags.

Rosie joins us from VML, where she’s spent the past four years shaping campaigns for The Lott, Powerball, Set for Life and Lucky Lotteries, with a few big rebrands and plenty of scroll-stopping social.

From always-on content to full-scale launches, she’s made a habit of keeping things fresh, relevant, and genuinely engaging.

A self-confessed social nerd (and coffee enthusiast), Rosie’s all about ideas that stick, and the people behind them.

Welcome aboard, Rosie.
Good things keep happening at Engine. ☕⚡

Operation Kindy. Mission accomplished.

Turns out, when you put a bunch of four-year-olds in charge, they take the mission very seriously - especially if that mission involves digging, playing and learning together.

Operation Kindy is the Queensland Government’s new campaign for Free Kindy, brought to life by Engine (in partnership with the Queensland Government) and produced with our friends at Content Lion.

Rolling out across TV, BVOD, online video, digital audio, OOH and social, it celebrates the curiosity, confidence and teamwork that make Kindy the perfect first step.
Big thanks to everyone involved, especially our pint-sized secret agents who absolutely nailed their brief.

Let there be rock!! Our latest work with Sunwater takes a fresh approach to safety around dams and weirs.

Live Dangerlessly flips false bravado back on itself. Think you know your way around a dam better than the warning signs? Yeah nah. If you’re sharp enough to back yourself, you’re sharp enough to know when to stop. The real power move is walking away.

With hair-metal riffs, wrap-around sunnies, loud shirts, slow-mo struts and more “yeah nahs” than a long weekend BBQ, the campaign makes following the rules the coolest move on the water - because staying safe is always the slickest decision.

Rolling out across BVOD, radio, outdoor and social during high-risk periods, the campaign tackles trespassing and exclusion zone breaches with humour, swagger and a behavioural science backbone.

Live Dangerlessly.
Follow the warning signs.

Every shot and setup for the QueensLand of Opportunity campaign was captured through the lens of the one and only Jesse Smith, with production support from the crew at Light & Shade.

Capturing everything from boardrooms and beaches to factories and farms, Jesse brought the same enthusiasm, precision and creative instinct he’s known for across Brisbane’s advertising scene, and the results speak for themselves.

The stills don’t just complement the film, they expand the story: authentic portraits of the industries, innovation and people that are putting Queensland on the global stage.

Bringing Queensland’s new global business brand to life meant capturing the best of what this state has to offer - from agriculture and biofuels to defence, construction, education and advanced manufacturing.

With a nimble crew from and sound design by , we travelled across the state to film real Queenslanders in real industries - no actors, just the people driving Queensland’s success every day. The warmth, sunlight and energy you see on screen comes straight from the state itself, carried through in every frame.

In collaboration with Trade and Investment Queensland the film debuted at Parliament House this week as part of the official launch of QueensLand of Opportunity, and will now hit the road with the Premier on an international trade mission. Needless to say, we’re thrilled to have collaborated with our local production legends and share Queensland’s story of trade, innovation and ambition with the world.

Launching Queensland’s Global Business Brand: QueensLand of Opportunity

Last night, we joined Queensland’s political and business leaders at Queensland Parliament House for the official launch of our state’s new global business brand - QueensLand of Opportunity.

This is a brand built to take Queensland to the world. A bold new identity that showcases the state’s strengths in trade, industry and innovation - from energy to agriculture, education to advanced manufacturing. First stop: India, where the Premier will lead a trade delegation to promote the benefits of investing in Queensland across a broad range of sectors.

Working closely with the team at Trade and Investment Queensland, we brought this brand to life from the ground up. That included everything from the logo and visual identity design to tagline, style guide, and rollout across digital and physical assets including microsite and prospectus.

It’s a look and feel that reflects a state punching well above its weight - one that exports over $105 billion in goods annually, powers 25% of Australia’s total resource exports, and connects the world through 21 seaports and 6 international airports.

This is more than a brand.
It’s Queensland’s invitation to the world.
And we’re immensely proud to have been part of it.

While the industry holds its breath, Engine just made a power move.

We’ve appointed François Hafner as our new General Manager - a globally seasoned operator who’s shaped brands like Audi, AGL, The Lott, Heinz, and Hugo Boss.

He helped Audi make clowns cool – with the campaign scooping a Grand Prix at the IPA Effectiveness Awards, a Graphite Pencil at D&AD, and Campaign’s “Best of the Best”.

He’s rebranded giants, launched a car, and managed fragrance shoots with Hollywood A-listers without breaking a sweat.

And beyond the résumé, Franc brings an infectious optimism and calm confidence that makes big ideas feel possible, and big challenges feel solvable.

In a market full of nervous cuts and safe bets, we’re backing talent, ambition, and bold thinking.

Because good things are happening at Engine.
Welcome, Franc. Let’s do this.

Engine is fired up to welcome Joe Hawkins to the team.
A heavy-hitting creative, Joe brings decades of sharp thinking and world-class craft to the Engine team - and we’re bloody lucky to have him. His resume reads like a roll call of top shops: DDB, VML, Saatchi, McCann, R/GA, Clemenger, 303 and more. His work has picked up metal at Cannes, D&AD, One Show, Clio, Effies, AWARD - the lot.

From Sydney to Singapore, Perth to Aotearoa, Joe’s helped shape creative across just about every category. Now he’s bringing that eye, energy, and experience to Engine.

Welcome aboard mate. Let’s make some noise!

When you watch this ad, you might feel a bit rattled. Uncomfortable. Good. That’s the point.
For decades, child sexual abuse campaigns have focused on the horror of the act. But this one is different. Because if we want to stop abuse before it starts, we need to recognise the early warning signs of grooming.
This campaign is about prevention. About spotting the red flags. About understanding that grooming doesn’t always look like danger. Sometimes, it looks like kindness. Hiding behind harmless.
And when you can see it, you can stop it.
Thank you to Bravehearts for trusting us, and to UnLtd. for bringing us together.
Watch the film. Share it. And please, go to the Bravehearts website to learn
the signs.

It’s been wonderful to see our “Make Your Choices Matter” campaign with Advance Care Planning Australia roll out over the past few months. This week marks National Advance Care Planning Week (March 17 – 23, 2025), a time to talk about the importance of creating an advance care plan.

What exactly is an advance care plan? It’s a document that outlines your healthcare preferences in the event that you become seriously ill and are unable to communicate or make decisions for yourself.

By planning ahead, you help ease the burden on your loved ones, who, without your advance care plan, may be faced with making difficult decisions on your behalf. Advance care planning ensures that your healthcare wishes are heard.
