How much coaching are you doing with your team?

Leadership isn't a thing.

It isn’t one way or one process, like being a ‘servant leader’ a ‘democratic leader’, or even a ‘visionary leader’.

Every single leader has their own way of leading (some better than others). It’s an extension of that individual’s way of being, their personality.

Being a leader is an extension of who you are as a person. Some have that naturally, some have to develop some skills around that. That requires a lot of self-awareness and awareness of others.

It’s about understanding what you need to do to tap into your best (based on your role) and bring out the best in others.

What I believe about leadership.

1. Leadership isn’t about being the loudest person in the room. It’s about creating space for others to thrive.

2. Fairness isn’t treating everyone the same. It’s giving people what they need to succeed.

3. The best leaders make themselves redundant by building teams that perform exceptionally, with or without them in the room.

4. Busyness is not a badge of honour. Effective leaders work smarter, not harder.

5. Trust is built through consistency, clarity, and real conversations.

Leadership rarely stretches us in the places we feel strong.

It stretches us in the places where we feel inadequate, like an imposter, intimidated, overwhelmed, or unprepared.

And when that happens, you have two choices. 1. Contract into fear. Or 2. lean into your intuition.

People don’t need you to be perfect; they need you to be present, to stay curious, to listen beyond the noise, to hold your centre when someone else loses theirs, and to create the space where people can behave better simply because you are.

If you’ve ever felt out of your depth, remember: Leadership isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about who you’re willing to become while you find them.
