FCSI APD Asia Pacific

FCSI APD Asia Pacific We Share, We Support, We Inspire. The Asia Pacific Division of FCSI is the newest of the society’s worldwide membership organizations.

From its birth as a chapter in 1995, then formally became a division in January 2006, the Asia Pacific Division has grown to represent the members of the society in the most dynamic and developing region in the world. Even though members represent a very diverse range of cultures from India to China, Japan and the Pacific, during regular meetings together, we have discovered that professionally we

have much in common with FCSI members worldwide. We also believe that our members can take the unique Asia Pacific vision and skills to the world.

A wonderful turnout at the FCSI India Fellowship Dinner on 10th March, bringing together industry professionals for an evening of engaging conversations and meaningful exchanges.

The discussion opened up new perspectives on the evolving role of foodservice consultants and how their expertise continues to shape and guide the future of the hospitality and foodservice industry.

It was encouraging to see such strong interest and thoughtful dialogue around the profession and its growing impact across the sector.

If you’re interested in learning more about the work of foodservice consultants or joining the community, feel free to drop us a DM.

Food waste is a global challenge, but solutions are rarely one-size-fits-all.

Across regions, policies, systems, and responsibilities vary, shaped by local realities and industry scale. What remains consistent is the need for collaboration across the food supply chain, from producers to hospitality operators, to reduce waste responsibly and sustainably.

Sustainability starts with people.

When teams understand their individual impact and see sustainability as a standard, not an add-on, it becomes part of everyday operations.

Strong leadership is about caring for people properly, creating clarity, removing chaos, and building systems everyone understands. When the “why” is clear, accountability follows, and sustainability becomes the norm.

Social media can elevate a hospitality brand overnight or undo years of work just as quickly.

When used with intention, it becomes a tool for storytelling, trust, and community. When used without strategy, it risks diluting identity. Balance, transparency, and alignment remain everything.

A conversation with Clair Steinhauser, Restaurant Manager at Attica. In hospitality, you’re not dealing with robots; you’re dealing with people.

The work lives in the details: understanding the process at a granular level, staying present on the floor, and asking questions constantly. Because good service isn’t automated, but it’s built, step by step, by humans.

When less becomes more.

As hospitality recalibrates after years of rapid digitalization, the focus is shifting back to what truly matters: presence, warmth, and human connection.

Technology should support the experience and not replace it.

We’re excited to share an article from the Foodservice Consultant Magazine’s final issue of 2025, shining a well-deserved spotlight on our outgoing APD Chair, Ben Gregoire.

Over the past two years, Ben has helped grow our membership, strengthen our sense of community, and deliver a wildly successful conference this past summer no small feat, and no small impact. His leadership has left the APD stronger, more connected, and better positioned for what’s next.

While Ben is stepping down as Chair, we’re pleased he’ll remain on the Board as we pass the torch to Phil Llewellyn, who will take on the role in 2026.

Thank you, Ben, for the dedication, energy, and hard work you’ve given to FCSI Asia Pacific.

Andrew Brain FCSI highlights that efficiency isn’t just about speed or systems. It’s about a process thoughtfully designed to support operations and deliver a better experience for the guest at the center of it all.
