Your team's text sign-in codes are being switched off.

Microsoft is retiring SMS and phone-call verification for Microsoft 365. Anyone whose only verification method is a text or a call will be blocked from signing in once the cut-off passes.

Why Microsoft is doing this:

◾ SIM-swap scams make text codes easy to intercept
◾ Phishing kits capture text codes in real time
◾ Passkeys and Authenticator are far harder to bypass
◾ Staff on Authenticator already are unaffected

The part worth acting on now: staff who set themselves up this week choose when it happens. Staff who wait get stopped at sign-in on a Monday morning, usually when they have the least time to deal with it.

February might sound far away, but the longer you leave it, the more your business will feel the pressure soon.
