OBH Print is very excited to be sponsoring and attending the 2026 Festival of Distilling, the Australian Distillers Association Conference and Trade Show. As Adelaide locals, we’re also delighted to welcome both local and interstate delegates to the Adelaide Convention Centre from 16-18 June.

Pop over to our trade booth ( #7) and introduce yourself to our wonderful spirits label expert, Tracy Coad. Tracy will be on hand to chat about producing premium, beautifully printed and embellished wine and spirit labels. She will provide guidance on the best stocks and finishes, and with our partnering paper supplier Spicers Australia,
exhibiting right next door, together they can showcase the possibilities which can be achieved to produce the perfect labels!

We encourage you to book a time via email to chat with Tracy during the conference: [email protected]
…while you’re in town, why not ask about arranging a tour of OBH Print? She’d love to show you around!

Behind the pages!
This week, we welcomed some of the Writers SA team and ten of their members to OBH Print for our very first Behind the Pages event.
The morning began with a warm welcome by our Managing Director Michael Richards, who introduced special guest Anne Martin, author of Pioneer Lost! Was he forgotten?
In our exclusive interview, Anne shared her experience of proofing and editing, along with the pre-press workflow and design journey behind bringing her publication to life.
Following the interview, guests were taken on a tour through our printing facility, stopping at our offset and digital presses and moving throughout our bindery. Along the way, they explored a range of our printed bookwork and asked plenty of questions.
The morning finished with networking over morning tea. Some great conversations were had, and it was an exciting way to help support South Australia’s self-publishing community.
We look forward to many more tours to come.

Ever wondered what goes on behind the doors at OBH Print?
The real magic happens behind the scenes from the hum of the presses to the people who bring it all to life. Our space is designed to be as welcoming as it is hardworking. It’s visitor friendly; we love sharing the print journey and we don’t mind sharing a few fun facts about what we do.
We think print is seriously awesome, and we think it’s even better when you can see it come to life too!

Relationships are a big part of how we communicate at OBH.
They shape our process and help us achieve the best possible results for our clients.

And it’s often the quiet conversations behind every print job that make it something special.

Sometimes it’s a designer describing something that doesn’t quite have words yet, “clean, but inviting… minimal, but informative…”

Sometimes it’s a client sketching an idea on scrap paper because the feeling may be clearer than a digital layout.

Sometimes it’s a supplier pointing out a new stock that will change everything.

Or sometimes, it’s just the clearly spoken operational processes that provide opportunity for refinement.

Print isn’t linear.
It’s iterative.
The exchanging of ideas, adjustments, and tiny shared understandings.

You can hear it in the way people speak in project briefings, in the design room or on the print floor.

It’s built over years, the trust in each other’s experience, the ease of knowing everyone is wanting the best achievable result in every job.

Before you hit "proceed to print”... here’s why final proofs matter.

They are the last check that influences everything! Even if it’s your artwork.

What to check…
* spelling & names
* dates & events
* calendars & timelines
* page order
* image placement & quality
* quantities & delivery details

Even the smallest oversight can cause costly reprints or timeline blowout.

Slow down at the proof stage. It’s worth every second.

Final proof = last chance!
You don’t want surprises after it’s gone to print.

We’re always here to help you through ☺️

“The Most Underrated Print Tip We Wish Everyone Knew”

There’s a moment in every job where colour has to land.
Not roughly. Not approximately.
Exactly!

And one of the simplest ways to protect that moment is quietly tucked into the very first decision you make — 🌈The colour mode you build your file in.

Most screens glow with RGB light.
It’s bright, spacious, almost impossible to replicate with ink.

But our industrial digital presses run in the physical world — CMYK inks, paper stocks, light bouncing at different angles, even the chosen finish affecting the final tone. Setting your artwork design in CMYK Colour Mode from the start, changes everything!

🚫When artwork is built in RGB and converted to CMYK at the end, the colours don’t always survive the journey.
They shift. Flatten. Drift away from your brand’s intention.

✅But when you build your document in CMYK Colour Mode from the start, something changes.
Your colours hold their ground.
Your style guide stays true.
Your printed pieces align — across labels, brochures, publications, collateral.

This isn’t flashy advice.
It’s quiet expertise.
The kind that saves you hours, protects your brand, and elevates your print long before it reaches our press.

Great print isn’t luck — it’s the sum of thousands of informed decisions.
And this is one of the easiest ones you can make.

“You’re welcome” 😊

Our wonderful team Managers had the pleasure of attending the Food and Beverage Industry Hall of Fame Breakfast at Adelaide Zoo this week, celebrating the 2025 Hall of Fame Inductee, Slape & Sons.

A third-generation, family-owned South Australian business, Slape & Sons’ journey from a humble butcher shop to a nationally recognised brand is a remarkable story of steady growth, dedication and leadership. It was inspiring to hear how Philip Slape and his sons, supported by a committed team, have built such an enduring legacy.

As special guests, South Australian Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards Hall of Fame inductees hosted at each table, sharing valuable insights into the innovation and commitment behind their success. OBH was delighted to share a table with Hall of Fame host Phil Sims of Menz Confectionery, who generously fielded many thoughtful questions throughout the morning.

The event was topped off with a delicious menu showcasing premium South Australian produce, enjoyed in the beautiful setting of The Sanctuary at Adelaide Zoo. A wonderful way to celebrate excellence in our local food industry.
