Aus canola exports off to solid start in Nov

AUSTRALIA exported 628,670 tonnes of canola in November, according to the latest data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics. The figure is more than 10 times the 64,179t shipped in October, and compares with 709,428t shipped in November 2024, to represent the first volume month in the shipping which officially starts in October. The surprise top-placed volume customer for November canola exports on 189,060t was the United Arab Emirates, which in November 2024 was the destination for only 54,000t of Australian canola....

GRAINS Australia has appointed 11 industry representatives from across Australia’s oilseed supply chain to its first Oilseed Council. The council will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of classification frameworks for Australian oilseed crops and providing expertise and advice in identifying oilseed trade and market access priorities, and requirements for market information and market education relevant to oilseeds. The council will join Grains Australia’s existing commodity councils for barley, wheat, oats, and pulses, as well as the Grains Market Access Council....

Weather: Hard to focus in international weather given the outlook at home. Rostov had around 1 inch, and the China wheat belt received some rain. There was nothing really in northern EU. But, as we have learnt it doesn’t really matter for the moment, particularly for US wheat which is plumbing new lows daily. Markets: Markets remain a tale of two – US futures and Black Sea FOB....

Corn is fast becoming the only reason we can challenge the shorts in wheat – and with ideal US growing conditions and weakening Brazil basis even that is becoming debatable.
