2026 is about working lighter, not harder

I help small business owners who are good at what they do, but weighed down by the work that sits around it.

One of my favourite wins of 2025 was helping Macedon Ranges Spoodles streamline every part of their website and communication. This project brought their systems into one clear flow, reduced their ongoing costs, and made day-to-day management so much easier for the team. A simple, well-structured setup can change everything.

My biggest lesson? Blocking out my week based on the commitments I already have, then filling the remaining space with smaller tasks, learning new things (in the ever changing world of AI) or time for myself. It keeps everything grounded.

One of the simplest ways to keep customers happy in December and January is to make sure your Google Business trading hours match what’s on your website. If your summer hours are shifting, add them now so people know exactly when you’re open, closed or taking a break. Clear information reduces missed calls, confused enquiries and frustrated visitors. It’s a small task that makes a real difference at this time of year.

One thing I learned about supporting small business owners in 2025 is how far steady systems will take you.

This year showed me that whenever a client paused long enough to document a workflow, tidy their website, or anchor their admin, everything else became lighter. Strong foundations aren’t exciting, but they keep a business moving when life gets full. This year reminded me just how powerful that is.
