Thanks again to Lauren and the team for inviting me back to write for the 31st Volume of Pond Trade Magazine.

It's strange to find yourself in a position of experience. It doesn't feel that long ago that everything felt new. The lessons that shape the practical experience and industry knowledge still holds the edge of discovery. Stranger, still, as I know there's so much more I have to learn. Opportunities like this provide a rare path to take years of experience - and perspective - and make it tangible. Practical. Relatable.

Across varied industries and company structures I have supported and managed over the last 15 years, the ways businesses structure themselves, set themselves apart, manage expectations and communicate their value effectively all share a few common threads. Once you find them, the work doesn't feel so insurmountable, or mysterious, or too much. It's a new perspective that breathes excitement into the slow and steady processes in building resilience and experience into the framework of your organisation.

This article calls for the reader to think about their business' as a whole. Like the ponds you build. Made of separate parts, pulled together under your unique experience and operating as a whole. A robust, but closed aquatic ecology that thrives when each element operates in concert.

The People You Meet On Tour 🙌 So much work goes into preparing for project tours.

For client , we started a few months ago, coordinating with clients, and the team to make sure the projects were in the right place for a jam packed tour while also being established enough to film.

The last week or so has been all about prepping the water features and going on tour with Dan, Greg, Mark, Flavio, Brett, Camello, Leah - and our friends at !

I’ve had the pleasure of doing the awards writing for three of the four projects filmed. It was just incredible to see them in person. And, while the vlogs are still a few months out, running around to all the projects was a gorgeous way to spend time.

It's a six page spread! Very exciting to get the chance to unpack "Why Industry Awards Matter" for POND Trade Magazine. Even more exciting having it in the same publication a client wins an award - well done Daniel and team Taylor'd Waterscapes!

This is the first long form article for a third party I've been able to publish under my own name, so it feels very special that I get to share this with you now.

A big thanks to clients and friends who allowed me to use imagery of their work to support the narrative and also to Lauren and the Pond Trade Team for holding space for the article.
