You've got a website. But is it winning you jobs β€” or just sitting there looking pretty? πŸ‘‡

Most tradie sites are digital brochures. They cost money, they look alright, and they've never rung the phone once.

Here's the difference:

❌ A BROCHURE
- Slow on mobile
- One page, no suburb pages
- Phone number buried in the footer
- Stock photos, no face
- "We cover South-East QLD"

βœ… WINS JOBS
- Loads instantly on mobile
- A page for every suburb (how you rank for "near me")
- Call + quote button up top
- Real job photos and reviews
- Your face, your name, your guarantee

Same spend. Completely different result. One sits there β€” the other brings work in while you're on the tools.

If yours looks more like the left column, that's not a design problem. It's a lost-jobs problem.

Plenty of tradies have a website. Almost none of them ring the phone. πŸ‘‡

Here's the hard truth: 97% of people search online before calling a tradie β€” but "having a website" and "having one that wins jobs" are two completely different things. A lot of blokes have spent good money on a site that's never brought in a single enquiry.

The difference comes down to a few things most sites get wrong:

πŸ“± Mobile-first β€” 63% of local searches are on a phone. Slow to load or pinch-to-zoom = they're gone before they read a word.
πŸ“ Suburb pages β€” "we cover South-East QLD" doesn't rank. A page per suburb does. That alone = 55% more visitors.
πŸ“ž One clear action per page β€” call or quote, above the fold. A number buried in the footer isn't a CTA.
πŸ‘· Real trust signals β€” your face, real job photos, actual reviews. Not stock images and a badge.

A pretty site that doesn't do these is a digital brochure. The goal was never "a website" β€” it's the phone ringing.

Most tradie websites are missing at least one of these β€” and it's costing them jobs. πŸ‘‡

Here are the 5 pages every tradie site actually needs:

1️⃣ HOME β€” reviews, guarantee and a quote form up top. Most visitors never scroll past it, so it has to sell fast.

2️⃣ SERVICES β€” a separate page for each thing you do. That's literally how Google works out what to rank you for.

3️⃣ SERVICE AREAS β€” a page for every suburb you work in. This is the secret to showing up for "[trade] near me" β€” one page can't cover ten suburbs.

4️⃣ ABOUT β€” your face, your story, your guarantee. People don't book a logo, they book a person they trust.

5️⃣ CONTACT β€” call button, quote form, map. Make it dead easy to reach you or you'll lose them at the last step.

A slick one-page site might look fine, but it can't rank or convert like this. Every page is pulling its weight β€” that's the difference between a website that sits there and one that brings work in.

"What's the best CRM for tradies?" is actually two questions in a trench coat. πŸ‘‡

Most tradies asking it mean one of two totally different things:

1️⃣ How do I manage jobs, quoting and invoicing without drowning in admin?
2️⃣ How do I stop losing leads I didn't even know I had?

The popular tools β€” ServiceM8, Tradify, Fergus, simPRO β€” nail #1. Almost none touch #2. And #2 is where most of your revenue quietly leaks out: missed calls, quotes that go quiet, reviews you never asked for.

So I wrote the honest breakdown β€” which job-management tool actually fits your trade and crew size (with real pricing), and the second layer nobody sets up that turns leads into booked jobs.

No fluff, no "just use ours" β€” the actual right setup for your stage πŸ‘‰ https://clearscale.com.au/blog/best-crm-for-tradies-australia

Compare the best CRM for tradies Australia 2026 β€” ServiceM8, Tradify, Fergus, simPRO, and the growth automation layer most trade businesses are still missing.

This one means a lot πŸ™

Asher summed up exactly what we're about β€” knowing this new era of web design and marketing inside out, and actually being someone you want to work with.

That's the goal every time: sharp on the strategy, straight with you as a person, and in it for the long game β€” not a one-off job.

Cheers Asher β€” looking forward to growing together too 🀝

Fresh demo off the bench πŸ‘‡

This one's for a Noosa handyman β€” "Done Properly." Says it all.

Same engine under the hood as every site we build: React, the same technology behind Facebook and Netflix. Different trade, different look, same lightning-fast foundation.

What that actually does for the business:
⚑ Loads instantly β€” nobody bounces before they reach out
πŸ” Built so Google can read and rank it
πŸ“„ Full multi-page site β€” every service and suburb covered
πŸ“ž Call + quote buttons that follow you the whole way down

And every inch points one way: turn a visitor into a booked job. Reviews scrolling up top. 5.0β˜… front and centre. A quote form that responds in 15 minutes.

Sharp to look at, built to bring in work. That's the standard.

Word-of-mouth is great. But if it's your only way of getting work, you've got a problem you can't see yet.

Here's the issue: you don't control it. You're sitting around hoping a past customer remembers your name and passes it on. When it happens, brilliant. But you can't turn it on. You can't predict it. And you definitely can't scale it β€” one happy customer tells one mate, maybe.

Worst part? It dries up exactly when you need it most. Things go quiet for you, they're quiet for everyone, and the referrals stop right when the work does.

And when it stops, you've got nothing to fall back on. No system, no asset, no way to generate work on demand.

I'm not saying kill word-of-mouth. Keep it β€” it's the best kind of lead there is. Just don't let it be the whole plan. Build something underneath it that you own and can switch on when you need it.

If work dried up tomorrow, what's your actual plan to get more? Genuine question.

Three tools I reckon every tradie should have on their phone. All free. None take more than five minutes to figure out.

WisprFlow β€” talk instead of type. Standing in someone's kitchen with dirty hands and need to jot a quote or a note? Just say it and it turns your voice into text. Way faster than pecking at a screen.

Google Business Profile app β€” this is the big one. It's your Google listing in your pocket. Post an update, reply to a review, add a photo of the job you just finished β€” all from your phone on site. Most tradies set their profile up once and never touch it, and it's quietly costing them rankings.

CamScanner β€” scan receipts, invoices and quotes straight into clean PDFs. No more shoebox of crumpled dockets come tax time. Snap it, file it, done.

None of these cost a cent. All of them buy back time you're currently losing to admin.

What's one app you couldn't run your business without? Keen for new ones.

Two tradies, same job. One charges a day rate. One charges a fixed price. The fixed-price bloke makes more β€” every time. Here's why.

Day rate caps you. You only get paid for the hours you're standing there, so the faster and better you get, the less you earn per job. You're literally punished for being good. And the client's watching the clock the whole time.

Fixed price flips it. You're paid for the result, not the hours. Get sharp, get quick, build a system β€” and that efficiency goes straight in your pocket instead of the customer's. The price is anchored to the value of the finished job, not how long it took you.

Same work. Same skill. Completely different business.

If you're still charging by the hour, you've capped your own income and probably don't realise it.

You on day rate or fixed price? Keen to hear which way you lean.

Quick question: where do you reckon most people find your business?

It's their phone. Not a computer at a desk.

For local trades, around two-thirds of searches happen on mobile β€” someone standing in their flooded laundry, sitting in the van, or on the couch at night Googling "plumber near me." They're on a phone, and they want to call now.

If your site is a pain to use on mobile β€” slow, fiddly, phone number buried β€” you're not losing a few customers. You're losing the majority of them.

Build for the phone first. Make the call button impossible to miss. That's where the jobs actually come from.

Pull up your own site on your phone right now. Be honest β€” how easy is it to call you in one tap?
