There comes a moment when a man questions his life.

At that moment, he begins to question not just what he has accomplished, but whether any of it truly matters.

He begins to ask: Is there more to life than this?

He may have

The family.
The house.
The 2.5 children.
The labrador
The Walt Disney family lifestyle.
The things he once believed would fulfill him.

Yet, beneath the noise of obligation and success, thereโ€™s a subtle but persistent call.

A whisper that only he can hear.

He privately wrestles with whether he is truly living a meaningful life.

This is not a sign of weakness. Itโ€™s a sign you're ready for something bigger.

Every man has a calling!

Every man carries within him a gift to be shared with the world.

McKinsey found 70% of employees define their purpose through their work, showing the deep link between work and meaning.

Letโ€™s look at the real difference.

A scarcity mind asks:

โ€œHow can I get more?โ€

An abundant mind asks:

โ€œHow can I contribute more?โ€

Leadership begins when you hear a knock at the door of your soul.

You can choose to ignore it and continue as before.

Or you can open the door and step into the life you are meant to lead.

As John C. Maxwell said:

โ€œA leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.โ€
This is the beginning of The Leadership Shift.

It is the moment a man shifts from working for money to building with meaning.

Your Calling
At Get Performing, we help businessmen discover and learn to lead from their natural strengths.

We help you discover...

Who you are.
Why you're here.
Where you're going.

This is where we explore the difference between nature and nurture.

Your gift. Your natural character.

Your nurture is the values and beliefs you have adopted from others.

Many times conditioned from

Fear.
Shame.
Guilt.
Pride.
Apathy
Anger

Over time, many men begin living from their nurture rather than their true nature.

They create personas to survive:

The hard worker.
The martyr.
The complainer.
The firefighter.

But those personas are not who a man truly is at his core.

A major part of the Get Performing Program is helping you discover your lifeโ€™s purpose.

Itโ€™s a major factor in performing consistently in proactive routines and habits.

When a man lets go of the need to seek approval or avoid the feelings of rejection, he is ready to lead and live his lifeโ€™s purpose.

The first step is to help you unlock your natural strengths.

So many times, we are told to follow someone else's formula.

But just because it worked for them doesnโ€™t mean it aligns with your values or circadian rhythm.

Remember, force will always be outperformed by personal power.

The second step is to teach you how to become an authority, influencer, and educator for your lifeโ€™s purpose.

For example, one of our clients, Mani, who runs a successful accountancy company for e-commerce businesses, is using his lifeโ€™s purpose to scale his team and teach his clients how the numbers tell a story.

He recently signed his biggest client, leveraging his natural strengths.

Not working harder. Leading smarter.

The third step is to show you how to live your purpose productively.

We will show you how to create the rightโ€ฆ

1. Structure
2. Systems
3. Support

To scale smarter.

From Firefighting to Purpose
Now, you might be thinking:

Jerome, Iโ€™m too busy firefighting.

And honestly, how do I know this will be worth my time?

What if it turns out to be a waste of my money?

I understand, these are natural concerns.

Most men I work with have felt the same way.

Your time is precious, and you need to see real results.

That's why there is always a month-long cooling-off period with our programs.

If you donโ€™t see progress in the first month, I will refund your entire investment.

Purpose is not something you focus on after the firefighting ends.
Purpose is what helps the firefighting stop in the first place.

When a man is unclear about his purpose, everything appears urgent.

Let me help you stop firefighting in business because your purpose matters.

Join the Get Performing Program for Men in Business and begin your Leadership Shift.

1. Discover your purpose.
2. Profit from your purpose.
3. Profit, productively.

And start optimising your 8,760 hours a year by scaling smarter.

Many businessmen spend years chasing.

More recognition.
More security.
More money.

They climb the ladder, tick the boxes, and achieve what they once thought would make them happy.

Then one day, a question appears:

"Is there more to life than this?"

He begins to question his existence.

His purpose.
His direction.
His contribution.

Long before there was money, there was man.

And deep down, every man who knows he was meant for something more eventually hears the same quiet voice.

A voice that grows louder with every achievement that fails to bring fulfilment.

"There must be more to life than my current existence."

The Leadership Shift begins the moment a man stops chasing what he wants from life and starts discovering his life's purpose.

WHY MEN MUST GOAL SET

One of the biggest problems I see in business is men getting stuck in firefighting.

They start with no clear outcome and, quickly, get trapped in short-term survival mode.

Constantly regressing to reactive habits.

One of my greatest feelings is progress.

Whether itโ€™s in a day, a month, or a year, I love the feeling of progress.

Thatโ€™s why clear outcomes matter to me.

Knowing the destination gives the day meaning.

Think about it ๐Ÿค”

We're only ever doing one of two things mentally, emotionally, physically or spiritually...

Getting weaker ๐Ÿ‘Ž

Or

Getting stronger ๐Ÿ‘

There is no middle ground.

This is why men must set goals.

A big part of leadership is the psychology of prevention rather than cure.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Itโ€™s understanding the outcome before the conversation.

๐Ÿ“ˆ The destination before the journey.

๐Ÿ“ˆ The vision before the strategy.

The men who master leadership donโ€™t just build stronger relationships.

They build stronger cultures.

Many businessmen reach the summit financially successful but mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually weaker.

The men who think smarter understand that business exists to improve the quality of everyones life span.

Thatโ€™s why I have a blood test once a year.

Not because something is wrong.

Because clarity is gold. ๐ŸŒŸ

The strongest leaders see the bigger picture in their everyday actions.

๐Ÿ’ช The wisest men get tested.

๐Ÿ’ช The wisest men stay stronger for longer.

When you choose to stay strong, your family benefits, your team benefits, and your business benefits.

Because a man who leads smarter creates a stronger culture.

Do you often set goals but struggle to follow through?

If that sounds familiar, keep reading. Iโ€™ll show you how to become someone who consistently sets and achieves goals.

Many men end up constantly putting out fires in business because they donโ€™t realise that goal-setting is actually a skill you can learn.

When you set goals that match your personal values and your brand, you stop reacting to problems and start leading with purpose.

This leads to steady progress.

Locke and Lathamโ€™s research found that in 90% of studies, people performed better with specific and challenging goals than with easy, vague, or no goals.

This shows something important about leadership.

Vague goals create inconsistency.
Clear goals create consistent progress.

This is what separates wasting your 8,760 hours each year from using them wisely.

One approach is reactive.
The other approach is proactive.

Setting clear goals makes things easier on your mind. It even helps your subconscious work for you, day and night.

When your goal is clear, your mind knows where to focus.

Remember: โ€œEnergy flows where attention is chosen.โ€

Letโ€™s see how the Outcome Shift framework can help you move from firefighting to scaling your business smarter.

Leading with Purpose
A big part of the Get Performing Program is helping men in business stop thinking like workers or technicians and start leading with their lifeโ€™s purpose.

When you think like a worker or technician, itโ€™s hard to grow your business.

But when you think like a leader, you focus on your purpose and build the structure, systems, and support you need to scale your business.

One of the steps in the Get Performing Program is called The Outcome Shift.

This module helps men understand the formula for simplifying decision-making and getting amazing results in all areas of life.

Leadership thinker Peter Drucker proposed that people perform better when they are clear about the objectives, responsibilities, and measures that guide their work.

The Outcome Shift helps you and your team get on the same page.

The Outcome Shift
Letโ€™s use a simple, smarter scaling example.

Step One: Focus
First, we focus on the outcome.

The question we ask is:

What is the ecological outcome we are looking to achieve?

This means the outcome must be good for you, good for others, and good for the greater good.

But your goal should also push you to grow, even if it feels uncomfortable at first.

For example:

1. Upgrading the client onboarding journey, making it easy to get started,

2. Strengthening our operational systems, so all clients see consistent progress each week,

3. Creating an effective marketing system to onboard 30% more ideal clients.โ€

This gives your mind a clear direction.

1. A number.
2. A deadline.
3. A clear flow.

Because defining the right outcome is where a big part of your psychological petrol gets used.

Step Two: Organisation
Once the outcome is clear, we get organised.

The next step is to reduce the cognitive load by breaking the outcome down into phases.

The question we ask is:

What are the phases needed to achieve this outcome?

Using the outcome example above:

Phase One: Upgrade the Client Onboarding Journey

By (day/month/year), we will have upgraded the client onboarding journey so that new clients can get started more easily, and the business will be ready to handle 30% more ideal clients.

Phase Two: Strengthen the Operational Systems

By (day/month/year), we will have upgraded the program support systems so that all clients can easily experience consistent progress every week.

Phase Three: Design an Effective Marketing System

By (day/month/year), we will have created an effective marketing system that enables the business to consistently attract, convert, follow up with, and onboard 30% more ideal clients.

At this point, the outcome no longer feels overwhelming.

It turns into a simple roadmap.

And when a man has a simple roadmap, he has an organised mind.

Step Three: Progress

Have you ever heard the saying, โ€œtrust the processโ€?

In the progress phase, we get specific clarity.

1. The outcome is clear.
2. The phases are organised.

Now we break down each phase into performance and process goals.

The questions we ask are:

What are the performance goals needed to achieve each phase?

And:

What are the process goals needed to achieve each performance goal?

For example, letโ€™s use:

Phase One: Upgrade the Client Onboarding Journey

A performance goal could be:

โ€œBy (day/month/year), we will have upgraded the first-week onboarding process, so new clients can get started easily, and know how to profit from their lifeโ€™s purpose, productively.โ€

Then the process goals could be:

1. Mind map the new, upgraded first-week client journey.
2. Review the current first-week onboarding process.
3. Identify the adjustments needed step by step.
4. Clarify who is responsible for each step.
5. Make the adjustments step by step.
6. Quality test the new process three times.
7. Sign off as completed by all responsible.

Now youโ€™re no longer just saying:

โ€œWe need to increase profits because.โ€

1. The outcome is known.
2. The phases are known.
3. The performance goals are known.
4. The process goals are known.

This is a straightforward way to set goals and lead with purpose.

Imagine how your life could change if you became someone who sets and achieves goals, grows your business, and lives with purpose.

โ€œBut Jerome, Iโ€™m too busy firefighting to sit down and think like a leader.โ€

I get it. Change is challenging. But ask yourself:

Phrases like โ€œIf you donโ€™t use it, you lose itโ€ condition the mind toward pressure, fear, and scarcity.

Your internal language shapes the culture you lead from.

Because perception becomes projection.

The breakthrough is proactive communication.

When you learn to communicate with clarity and lead more intentionally, everything changes.

You lead with more confidence, become more present at home, and build stronger relationships both personally and professionally.

At Get Performing, we help business leaders develop the communication and leadership skills needed to lead with purpose, clarity, and stronger connection.

The Communication Code

My dad always conveyed something to me that has stayed in my mind:

Like many men, I heard his words but still found myself wasting time, caught in routines that did not serve me at best.

I remember working for someone else and travelling an hour each way every day.

Two hours each day,
Ten hours a week,
Forty hours every month.

All those hours spent on the bus and tube were hours I could never get back.

Quite incredible when you stop and think about that routine over a lifetime.

It took me a while to realise that our greatest asset is not money, but time itself.

That shift in perspective opened my world to the power of the subconscious mind.

Then I started studying people who made progress look easy.

People who have achieved incredible things.

And one of the biggest things I noticed was their communication.

They spoke in a way that inspired people to take action.

And this is a journey I wanted to go on myself.

I realised that how we communicate makes the most of our precious time.

And why?

Because everything comes down to relationships.

Whether you are leading at home or in your business, the strength of your relationships is built on the transparency of your communication.

Start living by this communication code:

Simple to understand.
Not so simple to apply daily.

Ignoring this code wastes time and creates confusion.

And this is understandable.

From a young age, many of us were taught to focus on what to avoid, rather than what to achieve.

โ€ข โ€œDonโ€™t do that.โ€
โ€ข โ€œThatโ€™s bad.โ€
โ€ข โ€œYouโ€™ll hurt yourself.

โ€ข โ€œDo this.โ€
โ€ข โ€œThatโ€™s good.โ€
โ€ข โ€œYouโ€™ll get stronger.โ€

Same intent. Different communication.

One approach keeps the mind locked in fear.
The other directs the mind toward progress.

According to a poll conducted by Fierce, Inc., which surveyed over 1,400 employees, corporate executives, and educators, 86% of respondents believe ineffective communication is the underlying cause of workplace failures.

Our personal leadership is also shaped by our internal dialogue.

Are you reactive or proactive?

A reactive man communicates from a scarce, pessimistic, or fearful mind.
A proactive man communicates from an abundant, optimistic, and courageous mind.

Communication is like setting a destination in your GPS.

Set the wrong destination, and you end up in the wrong place.

One of my leadership principles is:

Clear communication creates certainty for both you and those you lead.

A major part of the Get Performing Program is teaching this communication code.

2. ๐ƒ๐ž๐œ๐จ๐๐ข๐ง๐  is how the other person understands what youโ€™re saying.

People can either be resistant or receptive to your message.

Most communication breaks down when men fail to speak with authority.

Thatโ€™s why Stephen Covey talks about seeking to understand before you're understood.

The words you choose affect how you and others perform.

For example, many businessmen say things like:

โ€ข โ€œI donโ€™t want another bad financial quarter.โ€

When you speak this way, you train your mind to focus on the problem.

The result is more of what you are trying to avoid.

A better way to say it would be:

โ€ข โ€œThis quarter, we will focus on increasing revenue by 20%.โ€

This communication approach helps your subconscious mind focus on the solution.

Before you speak, define the outcome.

Stop communicating to avoid problems. Start communicating to create progress.

Focus gives your communication direction.

Instead of saying:

โ€ข โ€œI donโ€™t want you to be late again.โ€

Say:

โ€ข โ€œI want you to be ready five minutes early.โ€

Or, with a team member, instead of saying:

โ€ข โ€œI donโ€™t want you to miss the deadline.โ€

Say:

โ€ข โ€œLetโ€™s complete the project two days early.โ€

You still address the issue, but now the energy is focused on solutions and forward movement.

Focus on creating clarity in your mind before you create clarity in someone elseโ€™s mind.

Once the outcome is clear, organise for progress.

This is where many men get stuck. They know what they want, but they have not organised their thinking to make it happen.

When the process is unclear, people are left guessing and progress stalls.

For example, at home you could say:

โ€ข โ€œFor us to be ready 5 minutes early to leave at 8am, letโ€™s have the school bags packed tonight, clothes ready before bed, and breakfast started by 7:15am and completed by 7.45am.โ€

Or, with a team member:

โ€ข โ€œTo complete the project two days early, letโ€™s confirm the performance goals and the process for each performance goal today and have a 15-minute progress check at 10am every day.โ€

Now, instead of just hearing your expectations, they have a clear roadmap to follow.

Organisation transforms communication into flow and consistent progress.

After you have communicated the outcome and organised the process, help others see the benefit that lies ahead.

This also helps with buy-in!

For example, at home:

โ€ข โ€œWhen we are ready to leave at 8am, the morning feels calmer, everyone is relaxed, and we start the day in a great mood.โ€

Or, with your team:

โ€ข โ€œWhen we complete the project two days early, we have more time to reflect and improve our operations so we can all grow in this company at a healthy pace.โ€

This allows people to experience the progress in their minds before it becomes reality.

Progress is what gives every conversation enthusiasm.

This simple shift in communication turns regress into progress.

Picture yourself walking into your next meeting with the clarity and confidence to inspire your team into action.

I get it. Change management is not easy.

It is tempting to stick with familiar habits, even when they hold us back.

But ask yourself: Do you want to waste your time, or make the most of the minutes you've been blessed with?
