Queensland caravan owners – did you know?

From 1 January 2027, all Queensland registered caravans and motorhomes must have a photoelectric smoke alarm installed on the ceiling.

To comply, your smoke alarm must:
✅ Be photoelectric (not ionisation)
✅ Comply with AS 3786:2014
✅ Be mounted on the ceiling
✅ Be in working order

If you’re unsure whether your current smoke alarm meets the new requirements, now is a great time to check—before your next trip away.

At BMC Off Grid, we can supply and install compliant smoke alarms while your caravan is in the workshop for your upgrade.

Stay safe. Stay compliant. Happy travels! 🔥
