Republic of Everyone

Republic of Everyone We make doing good, good for business. Hello! We’re pure play. Sustainability is not a thing we do, it’s what we do.

We're Australia’s leading sustainability, purpose and behaviour change specialists on a mission to be best in the world. We were founded on the idea that the dark arts of marketing and communications are too powerful to wasted on selling things the world doesn’t need. Since then we’ve evolved into something more interesting, bringing together consulting, creativity and activism to pioneer positive ways to change the world.

Well, it’s officially Spring!
We asked Belinda Bean, our resident green thumb who is an expert in Collective Impact & Sustainable Development with a focus on horticulture and urban greening, to tell us what’s on her mind when the seasons start change in Australia.
Here’s what she said... 🌻 🌺 🐝 🌸🌷

In our changing world, it's more important than ever to look to the wisdom of First Nations voices.

NAIDOC Week (6 – 13 July) celebrates the oldest continuous cultures on Earth. The 2025 theme - “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy” - calls us to honour Elders, support young leaders, and build a shared future.

Sydneysiders, save this one for a non-rainy day (or two or three!); the Great West Walk extension is finally open, making it the longest hiking trail in Western Sydney!! 🌳🥳

At 140km, the hike stretches from Parramatta to Katoomba at the top of the Blue Mountains, taking you through bustling urban centres, sweeping public parklands and breathtaking bushland. Take the easier option and go top-down, or if you’re up for the challenge, try climbing from the bottom-up! 🤩

📣FREE LUNCH AND LEARN WITH BEN PEACOCK [Founder, Republic of Everyone]📣

You may have noticed we’re in a sustainability revolution. Everywhere you look, there’s another brand or business championing a cause or credential.

But which brands are really getting behind their efforts, and – in doing so – earning the business benefits?

Coming up on Thursday 18th August, Republic’s Founder Ben Peacock – in partnership with our friends at the Shared Value Project – will be sharing insights on the brands that Australians see as leading in sustainability. Learn how leaders tell their good news stories for maximum impact and business benefit.

How boredom can lead to your most brilliant ideas 💡do you sometimes get your most creative ideas folding laundry, washing dishes or staring out a car window?

When your body goes on autopilot, your brain gets busy forming new neural connections that connect ideas and solve problems, as Manoush Zomorodi explains in her 2017 Talk (linked in bio).

So you know what to do! Make some space for absolutely nothing this weekend. We’ll see you on the other side 🔥

[4/6] We've all heard of the ocean plastic catastrophe. But where is all that plastic actually coming from? 🧐

The bulk of it – 80% – starts its journey on land, from where it makes its way into waterways like rivers, which then carry the waste into the ocean. We also know that the source of the issue is pretty concentrated – most of the world's marine plastics originate from Asia (86%), driven by a rapidly growing population and waste collection and disposal systems that simply aren't keeping up.

Introducing the fourth start up from 's 2022 Impact Accelerator Program, RiverRecycle] . Established in Helsinki in 2019, River Recycle is on a mission to not only rid the world's waterways of plastic, but enable affected comunities to prosper from the solution under a clever waste-to-resource circular economy model ♻️

How it works: in a nutshell, the collected waste is processed by locally-employed workers, where it’s comprehensively sorted and re-sold as raw materials – meaning the entire solution can be implemented in communities free of charge. It literally pays for itself! 💸
