A big win for us at this year's Melbourne Royal! Our limited release 2023 Syrah was awarded 96 points and won the trophy for 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐳.

Have you tried Grüner Veltliner yet? Our founder's son-in-law is Austrian, so there was no way we weren't going to have a go at producing Austria's flagship white w**e. Fortunately, our terroir is perfectly suited and we make a really good one!

Tassie wins again! Congratulations to Coal River w**ery Bremley Vineyard for claiming top honours at Australia’s premier Pinot Noir competition, the Mornington Peninsula W**e 2024 Pinot Noir Challenge. This is the fifth consecutive year a Tasmanian w**ery has taken the top spot!

Our 2023 Pinot Noir also scored 95 points and was also in the trophy tasting. Another great year for OSSA Pinot Noir!

Nick Ryan did a nice write up about OSSA this weekend in the The Australian Weekend Magazine, including some notes on a few of our new releases. Loved the Chardonnay notes in particular - curry leaf, buttered popcorn, yuzu curd. Yum!

New Vintage Release: 2022 Chardonnay

Like its esteemed predecessors, our 2022 Chardonnay is made from a combination of two Burgundy clones, I10V1 and P58. The I10V1 contributes great depth and complexity, whilst the P58 lends notes of stone fruit and a well-defined acidity that helps to enhance the w**e’s overall structure and aging potential.

The clones were harvested separately and each gently pressed into large format seasoned French oak for an indigenous fermentation. The w**e received minimal intervention during the 10 month élevage on lees in barrel prior to blending.

The 2022 Chardonnay embodies purity and finesse. Subtle nuances of struck match and flinty minerality intertw**e with a whisper of oak spice on the nose, along with delicious lemon curd and hints of nashi pear. At its heart lies a focused core of ripe stone fruit, enveloped by a pristine acid structure that bestows both richness and tension across the palate. Drinking beautifully now, however we know patience will reward with this w**e.

More than just a pretty picture! In the foreground is our dam and up above it is our solar farm.

Farming sustainably is important for us and important for the planet. With a large solar array and battery storage capability, our farm and vineyard are entirely off grid. Several other players in the sector augment their power needs with solar supply, however, we believe that we are alone in being totally off the grid. All our pumping energy needs are met with a sophisticated, multi-pump soft start system. This also applies to irrigation and other inputs beyond the vineyard.
