✨ Things I LOVE About My ADHD Brain (+ A Book Rec!) ✨
With so much happening inside my brain, I NEED space, flow, and an uncluttered environment. Because when my surroundings are calm, my mind is too.
So, when I attended a Feng Shui masterclass with the amazing in December, I was ALL IN.
Naturally, I ordered her book Your Home Is a Vision Board… and then my ADHD brain did its thing:
✔️ Read it cover to cover (yes, with color-coded tabs).
✔️ Audited my entire home (spreadsheet included).
✔️ Rearranged everything for maximum energy + flow.
The result? More clarity, less clutter. More energy, less overwhelm.
Hyperfocus is a strength, the ability to go deep, absorb everything, and take massive action. And honestly? I love that about my brain.
Big thanks to for the wisdom & for the masterclass! 💫

💡 Most people come to me for strategy. They leave with something way bigger.
⚡ Confidence they didn’t know they had.
🚀 A career (or business) path that actually excites them.
🛑 Boundaries that actually stick.

So I did a thing! I set out this month to walk 100km and raise $1000 for mental health awareness and I’ve exceeded my targets so far. I’m at 122% of my fundraising target and I’m at 101km’s and October isn’t over. So chuffed with the support so far and I’ll keep going! If you want to support me in this incredible cause - I would love that. Https://www.onefootforward.org.au/fundraisers/juliecockerill

Let's face it... total burnout is sometimes a choice! 😩 Been there, done that, and never going back!

But here's the plot twist: my ADHD diagnosis turned it all around. 🙀 Now, I'm mastering my burnout cycle, embracing rest, and thriving.

Curious? Check out my journey below ⬇️ and discover how to prevent ADHD burnout.

I've been there - a number of years ago, and I will never go back.

Being a high achiever, I would work myself to the bone during the week because I was excited by all the things I was doing and could do. I've worked for organisations that allowed me to be entrepreneurial which is absolutely a double edged sword for an ADHD brain.

I'd pour everything I had into what I was excited about and have nothing left for the weekend. And generally because learning is my top strength, I also had a course I was doing, which took any energy I had left on the weekend.

😩 So what I'm saying is, nothing left for me or my family.

When I was diagnosed with ADHD 3 years ago, it all became clear. The good thing was that I was studying positive psychology and wellbeing at the time and started to experiment with the strategies I was learning, on myself.

🙀 Surprise - I learned a better way to manage myself and my brain.

Since being diagnosed with ADHD and understanding my burnout cycle, I'm acutely tuned into when I need to rest and when I need to be all in. I'm also absolutely dedicated to the rituals that allow me to operate at my best without falling down.

👀 If you often feel fatigue and the way you work is no longer working, then have a look at the Masterclass I ran in November on preventing ADHD burnout.

6 Strategies to kick start your ADHD brain so that you can get Sh&t done!

(Brain friendly tips to get you going when you hit a slump)

As I go along my ADHD journey I learn more and more about myself and my brain, and what we need in order to reach our maximum potential both in daily life and in the corporate world. It's a team effort between my brain and I!

What really helps me is:

📆 Breaking down the task (using my strength of planning)
⏲️ Working in time blocks and actually putting a timer on
💦 Staying hydrated (the brain 🧠 is around 75% water)
🧍‍♀️ Stand up desk so that I can move and work
🎵 Playing focus music
🧠 Structure my day based on when I need my brain to be creative

Do you need a hand developing strategies? I can help! Head to my new website (link below) or send me a DM to find out how I can help you manage those things that you're getting stuck on.

Is Sunday your 'Campaign of Misery'?

(Thanks Mel Robbins for that great statement).

No one dreads Mondays like an ADHDer that isn't harnessing their strengths at work. This is certainly changeable, but not on your own (like most things, really!).

Have you been able to pinpoint what it is that's contributing to that feeling for you? Message me BRAIN if you want to have a 30 minute free coaching session.
