The organisations that lead the future won’t be the ones with the most technology, they’ll be the ones that know how to transform with purpose.
As part of our Ask the Expert series, we asked Charlie Hales:
“Where do you see organisations struggle most when trying to align business, technology, and cyber strategies?”
Charlie’s key message: Don’t start with the technology. Start with the business value and the opportunity to transform.
Too often, organisations begin with existing processes, current capabilities, or what a technology solution can deliver. The organisations creating real impact are those that step back, rethink what’s possible, and align business, technology, and cyber strategies around a shared vision, especially as AI continues to reshape the way we work.
As Charlie explains:
"They struggle when they start with the Technology. They need to lead with the business value and opportunity to transform. They need to not get stuck in ‘this is what we do now’ or ‘this is what the tech can do’ and instead think about the art of the possible to redesign the overall model to align the strategies, especially with AI now in the picture also! The businesses that are truly doing this are the ones leading the way and will be most successful."
